I remember noticing when I took a trip over there that the graffiti in Paris was of a much higher standard than that in London.

See the London Graffiti thread for an explanation of this, there's plenty of writers of this standard and higher in the UK they just don't tend to paint in London because of the shitty attitude of London's bombing crews. London writers pretty much kick started the Paris graf scene in the 80's too.
