413586 Visas and that
Borderlads, I need your help!

My Chinese girlfriend is in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa (not short term) that's due to expire in mid-January 2018. Her mates — also from SEA — have told her she can leave the country for France for a couple of days around the time her visa expires before coming back in on a three-month tourist visa, however she's unsure as to whether they're pulling her leg and she still has her pilot's exam to complete.

Is there any truth to this? If so can she come back in to sit her pilot's exam on a tourist visa? How difficult is it to renew a tier 4 student visa?

She could do that, but it would be very much illegal, and if caught she may find that future visa applications are refused. One of the questions on visa applications is whether you have had an application refused, so it becomes a vicious cycle.

Of course, given the bigots currently in government, don't be surprised if she applies for a renewal and is refused.

>My Chinese girlfriend

I always knew it was weirdos who go after Chinese women and this proves it.
