They were amazing at this stage in their career - tunes like Subliminal... I Saw Your Mommy... Possessed, etc.

I almost feel it's a shame they became as big as they did, because although their later albums are good too, they don't seem quite as vital, or as full of paranoid vitriol as the eponymous debut.

The amphetamine choruses... the buzzsaw guitars... and above all, songs that sharply focus teenage angst in a way the current crop of clumsy emo whining can't get near to.

I wish to learn how to play like this. I started teaching myself guitar a few years ago, and got quite good, but never liked using a plectrum, so I am maybe more suited for finger playing. I also this this makes a change to the usual smoke on the water and sunshine of your love that everyone knows how to play.

Sorry for not contributing, although I play guitar and piano, both are at my parent's house as I live in a poxy flat.
