Acne, it was basically just Viz for kids. It still had all the swearing and violence, just none of the sexual references. I still honestly can't believe they managed to make this comic and target it at children. It was the most fucking fantastic thing ever as a kid.

It has Lightning McQueen on the front though. You have no idea the hold he has over children of a certain age. My four-year old is super-fucking-mad for Lightning McQueen and Cars.

Thankfully having watched the DVD 100+ times, I can confirm it is a pretty good film and I like all of Pixars output, but the number they have done on follow-on marketing is staggering. I heard a stat that said they had set the record for the amount of money made in follow-on branding and merchandising, beating all other films.

OINK!, and 2000AD of course. The odd Commando, too.

I started reading Viz when I was 12 and have read it religiously ever since (I'm thirtysomething). And 2000AD.

Viz and 2000ad. Don't get either anymore, though Viz looks to be going strong and the Drunken Bakers is one of the funniest strips i've ever read.
2000ad i used to get religiously, I couldn't wait till Wednesday morning to lay down my pound twenty at the newsagent on the way to school, though sadly it seems standards have slipped. I'm sure there's a load of diamonds among the rough, but nowadays it just seems to be reprints of old comics and terrible new ones with naff looking cheapo computer generated cells.

A piece published in the Guardian last Saturday says that Viz's circulation is currently at around 100,000, compared to around a million in 1990. That article, and also links to several scans of Viz issues, can be found here: http://couchtripper.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=5144
