I passed my theory in 2006 and didn't do any driving for ages after so it expired last year and I have to take it again. I seriously hope they don't want me to do that many fucking questions.
Is the hazard perception as badly designed as the ones you get on the practice CDs? I'm getting shitty scores on this one i stole from the internets, but i'm hoping it's just because it's a shit test.
For example, i got a question where to get 5 points i had to spot a lollypop lady and some kids before they were actually visible. On another one i got 0 points because i spotted a guy sprinting towards the road, before he actually stepped into it.
That was my experience of it. The software I got was endorsed by the DVLA and everything, yet in the video bits I couldn't do a thing right. I passed the real one no bother though. Everyone I have asked has said the same thing too. I don't understand why they would make the practice one so hard, or make it operate differently to the real test, but they have. Watch the videos to get used to the things that will probably pop up in the real one, and don't get worried if the shit software at home doesn't register your clicks in time or whatever. The fact that you can see you're doing it right and suspect it's the softwares fault is a good sign.
The hardest part of the theory test for me was memorising all the highway code stuff; while a great deal of it is common sense and stuff you have probably picked up anyway, some of it you just need to know. The questions I remember getting wrong were stuff about the LED motorway signs (since I'd never driven on a motorway because I WAS A LEARNER!) and the one about tire tread depth. (I still don't remember if it's 1.4 or 1.6 mm)
