A controversial Scottish brewery has said it has reclaimed the title of the world's strongest beer from German rivals - with Sink the Bismarck at 41%.

BrewDog, of Fraserburgh, made headlines last year when it unveiled a 32% beer called Tactical Nuclear Penguin.

However, Schorschbrau released the 40% strength Schorschbock.

BrewDog said its newly released 41%, Sink the Bismarck, would cost £40 for a 330ml bottle and would only be sold online.

A tad on the expensive side, but I guess at least we got one up on the "sausage munchers"

Being from germany I had to laugh quite a few times at the "sausage munchers". The beer? Meh.. at 40 excuse me 41% I'd rather have some nice whisky or other stuff.
Pic related, i brought you a good stout from munich.

Ps.: What's with the WW2 references, you still haven't got over that? Come on ...>>3714

Its to do with a germany brewery making a beer stronger than their previous one and knocking them off the top spot, hence the name....

Typical kraut.. no sense of humour

I thought it was quite subtle. No mention of '66 and everything!

I would have to agree with the Kraut. It's about time everyone got over it and frankly it's becoming embarrassing.

I wholeheartedly agree. The Kraut may be right for the wrong reasons, but he is correct nonetheless. This nation and her allies did great things in the 1940's, but seventy years on we're still banging on about it. We've done many great things since then, and will continue to do great things - let's concentrate on that, chaps, rather than that horrid war nonsense.

And no, 1966 does not count as recent.

You lads are aware you're supposed to treat this like a short, right?

I'd be both impressed and horrified if any of you could have a pint of this with your vindaloo, and I'm northern and everything.

I'd like to act the hardcore online tough guy and say I'd drink a few pints of it while watching footie.

Fact is, I'm a fairy southerner and I would have a few sips before pushing the cap back on nice and tight. I can't imagine it tasting like beer at all. I do like the name though, brings back good gloating memories.

Kraut here, my comment about the ww2 references wasn't a butthurt complaint and meant rather humorous. I don't really care too much, although it seems a bit strange that hitler and the wehrmacht are back on stage everytime a football match is up.

As to the beer: Strongest beer I tastet was about 20% and I didn't like it at all. There's better liquors to spend 40 quid on i guess.

No, nor me. I imagine it would taste a lot like something I invented in my first year of university, in which I combined a poor lager with an undrinkable vodka, to make Fostka. It was not pleasant.

To be fair, it's not like we can take the piss out of your football team. We have to find something.

Very much this. Russian involvement in WWII has been consistently understated in the West.
