3819 best quick savoury snack
I didn't want to sully the bacon buttie thread with this.

Gentlemen, tell me your best quick snack. Late night, just got in from work, after the pub. My submission is the toasted fish-finger sandwich (with mustard), but lets not limit this to any particular genre of comestible.

I jam a potato in the microwave and load it up with cheese and beans if a quick snack is the order of the day.

Beans on toast, from can to belly in the time it takes to toast the bread. Cheese, black pepper, tobasco on top. Lovely.

Basic frozen pizza base. Put on oven, load base with veg, sausage and extra cheese, chili sprinkles. By the time I've done this, oven is at optimum temp. 15 minutes later I'm eating it with a bottle of beer.

Tuna melt. Toast on one side while, mixing can tuna with mayo, cheese, onion, black pepper, lemon juice, a little salt. Spread half mix on toasted side of one bit of bread (it is half bread and half toast, not sure if I should say "place mix on cooked side of raw toast"), cover with other bit of bread (toasted side down). Toast under medium grill, turn twice for each side to let cheese in centre melt.

Bowl of cereal

Bowl of porridge (it does say porage on the box, but I'm no poragefag)

Cup of coffee and a fag.

Mexicana is seriously good stuff. A generous layer on toast will do.

I was going to have a bacon and egg muffin for lunch today, but found to my horror that there were no eggs. I had already started frying the bacon, and put the muffin on to toast, so I persevered; when the two were ready, I buttered the muffin and laid the bacon on one side. I then put a small healping of beans on the frying pan. Putting beans directly on the muffin, I knew, would cause 'sauce-bleed', so, constrained by a lack of normal tomatoes, I sliced some cherry tomatoes, and laid them on the other half of the muffin, before applying the beans to that self same side. Now rather enjoying myself, I decided to cap it all off by putting some Worcester Sauce on the bacon, before putting the two sides together. It was lovely, and I would highly recommend it.

The tuna melt sounds delicious. I always thought tuna just shouldn't be served hot.

It's sort of been mentioned before, but for years I've been making a wonderful chicken wrap. Takes about 10 minutes from start to finish.
One chicken breast, in the oven for 5 or 6 minutes on a high heat. After this time remove the chicken and wrap it in 2 or 3 rashers of decent bacon, that should be enough to cover the length in piggy goodness. A couple more minutes in the oven to cook the bacon then remove it again and load the top with grated cheese. Make sure it's spread right along the breast.
Back in the oven.
Microwave a standard fajita wrap for 30 seconds, add mayonaise, lettuce and tomato if you like that kind of thing. Chuck it all together and slice down the middle.

Result.

That looks fantastic. I'm definitely going to give this a try.

I started making bacon and beans on toast, but there was no bacon. I added two eggs to the bacon pot (two small pieces of toast and two rashers, for all interested) and scrambled them. I grated some cheese in (not too much), buttered the toast and put them on, and it was nice. Don't forget to pepper it, if that's your inclination with beans on toast.
To drink, I speculate that a reasonable quality honeyed bitter would have been ideal.
