How much you fine people pay for:
1g Methcathinone / Mcat

NOT methylmethcathinone (mephedrone)

Nothing. All of these novel drugs are inferior to proper, old-fashioned drugs. They're only briefly relevant until they get criminalised.

Methcathinone's sole saving grace is that the synthesis from pseudoephedrine is a trivial oxidation, so you can do it safely and easily in the most rudimentary of circumstances. It's a convenient substitute for cheap speed if you're skint and/or have no connections, but I see no reason why you'd bother taking it if you have access to real drugs.

Heck, now that Silk Road exists, having no connections is barely an issue. You can get top-quality druggy-wuggs via mail order, in complete anonymity.

Define speed, as above name get mixed up.
Do you mean speed - fet, or speed - met, or speed - crystel meth
or please give the actual chem name.

Technically meph is 'mmcat' but morons don't know the difference and call it mcat. Hence the propagation.

Speed has historically and to this day refers to amphetamine.

Methcathinone retails for around £20/g if I recall correctly.

Mcat is slang, "technically" doesn't come into it. It's always been that way; just because there's now a different popular drug with a more appropriate chemical name doesn't make mcat not drone.

Just FYI; Methcathinone has been in wide use since 1928 when it was first synthesized, and has been controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act for a HELL of a lot longer than Methyl-Methcathinone (aka Mephedrone) which has only had wide availability since 2003.

To imply that Methcathinone is a new or newer drug than Mephedrone only shows your own ignorance of chemical / drug culture.

Sage for not drawing attention to fools.

You do understand the difference between something beginning to be popular and something simply beginning, right?

Yes, but you didn't clarify which it was and that last sentence could easily be read as indicating the latter, resulting in >>5664's post.

I clarified it by using the word "popular".
