If I start germination on Monday, do you think I'll get anything from a guerilla ruderalis indica grow?
I know this strain will definitely work in the south of England where I am as it works in North-Eastern Europe, just worried about summer ending before they flower.
Do I have to hope for an extended summer or are my toils going to shit?
Not trying to achieve super-weed at commercial levels here just farming 5 plants for myself for medical reasons (hense why indica!)
>>5834 5 plants? In your garden? What's the risk here? Will the neighbours grass you up? Would the police just confiscate the plants, or would they arrest you anyway, or can they even pull out an intent to supply charge?
If caught, you'd generally get a fine of a few hundred quid or a community order. You might get away with a caution if you're very lucky. The CPS won't bother going for intent to supply unless you admit to it - commercial grows are massive operations with dozens of plants and magistrates know it.
It's probably a poor idea to grow in your own garden unless you've got a very secluded spot. Indoor growing is piss easy, gives better yields and can be done in remarkably little space.
Plants need light to photosynthesise, so growing indoors requires a powerful light to substitute for sunlight. A 400w lamp costs about £15 a month to run, but would provide a yield of several hundred grams. The cost of electricity is trivial, it works out to a couple of quid an ounce. A very sophisticated hydroponic system can cost thousands, but you can buy a basic growlight for as little as £40.
Indoor gardening is far easier and cheaper than most people realise. If you've got £50, a wardrobe and a bit of common sense, you can be self-sufficient.
The weather has been stunning and all five seedlings have emerged into healthy little plants with quite big leaves like the ruderalis indica shown in the original post.
They are about 7 cm high now with a leaf span of about 8 cm, the biggest is about 30% larger then the smallest,
I have dug out 1 meter square on a slope for each plant, so a 3 by 1 meter plot for the first 3 plants, and a 2 by 1 meter plot for the two which will be on the higher terrace.
I am currently in discussion with a friend who has grown these about 15 years ago on the best fertilizers to use outdoor, since my garden is at the bottom of a forrest on a slope we assume this has added a base level of fertilization which we will gradually supplement with a combination of bonemeal, fishmeal and potash.
He also wanted to mix a 10% piss solution but I told him I'd think about it, what do you guys think? If it makes a different I have a gluten, fizzy drink and alchohol free diet so I don't consume much shit (aside from chocolate, coffee and smoking).
3 days are predicted cloudy in my area but a nabour has a 300w CFL he's going to put them under for those days so we don't fall behind in the season, we may even rush them a bit in a 20/4 cycle to encourage flowering before september outdoors when they get very big.
Since they are outdoor, and its been pissing with rain I am worried they may suffer from over-watering again.
I'm using soil from the woods (redish soil, probably not ideal) with fish blood an bone and a bag of perlite.
Probably gonna leave em be for a couple weeks before I next check on them now, I have been chucking slug pallets around about an acre of land around my garden so hopefully my biological warfare will whipe the fuckers out until my babies are big enough to survive on there own.
UK420.com is full of pricks. If you disagree with them you will be banned. THCTalk would be much better, or rollitup come to think of it. Much friendlier places.
Ruderalis genetics are brilliant. You get short, hardy plants that autoflower very quickly, even if they're badly neglected. If you're after maximum yields and know what you're doing then ruderalis crosses aren't the best choice, but for the novice grower they're a revelation. Several breeders have strains that go from seed to bud in under nine weeks, with mature plant heights of less than 60cm.
As this is more of a hobby I wanted to use the local woodland soil as British soil is perfect for this kind of thing in some places so its a novelty to smoke something grown in the local soil, like wine each region may have different qualities.
I will post another pic in a few days, only 2 left (3 males which I pulled a few weeks ago).
