I love how Nicholas of Cleggington has basically literally said that nobody is going to win the election outright, and that's why you should vote for the Yellow Tory Nonce Party Lib Dems.

Even the vice president of England is saying that Democracy isn't working ITZ

The Greens are pro decriminalisation of cannabis following the Dutch model, but also want to stop the advertising of and dramatically reduce the sale of tobacco and alcohol to reduce their effects on public health. In regards to other recreational drugs their policies focus more on improving drug awareness and rehabilitation, with no mention of decriminalisation or otherwise changing their status.

If you're serious about voting for a party with a more /A/-favourable stance then go for the Greens; just expect them to introduce a minimum price per unit on your tipples while you're enjoying a massive spliff in your garden.

Alcohol and tobacco are immeasurably more harmful than cannabis. It makes sense to me that the rules for the latter should be more lax than the formers.

The difference for me personally is that I can drink a couple of beers, feel a tad tipsy and wake up the next day with minimal hangover and get shit done. Whereas with weed, even if I only have a few tokes I feel the effects for so much longer, up to 2-3 days later I'll still feel a bit dazed and have less concentration and motivation than I would normally. Also it has royally fucked with my sleeping and anxiety on occasion. Just my personal experience, it affects a lot of people differently though it's a fact that THC stays in your body "longer than any other common drug" (http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2287.aspx?CategoryID=53).

Fuck off. Fuck the Greens. Fucking Nazis think they can allow me to smoke weed, but they will behead me if I smoke cigarettes. What kind of bullshit is that?

They're not going to behead you, they're just going to stop all advertising of tobacco and alcohol and try to tackle abuse and use in the young as much as possible. Which, considering the public health impact of the two and the nasty binge drinking culture we have in the UK, is probably quite a good idea. Calm down.

I'm sticking with UKIP. All you leftists are the same, even when you seem liberal enough to decriminalise weed, you are just another fascist. Fuck off.

I'd just like people to bear in mind that even in this, our slowly evaporating tidepool of the internet, we still have a number of intentional trolls and reactionaries.

LibDems have decent views on drug possession laws.

Yeah, but for the Lib Dems policies are just 'lies we'll tell you so that you'll vote for us'. I guess this is true to some extent for all political parties, but I'm surprised that Nick Clegg manages to say anything with a straight face after the '“pledge to vote against any increase in fees in the next parliament" shite.

You no doubt right, but I can't help but think if they were the ones in full charge, they'd be good. Not that there is any chance of that happening.
