I'm looking for a drug that gives a similar high to that of a very strong coffee, which for me grants 10-15 minutes of what I can only describe as happiness and warmness through my hands.

It isn't overwhelming, it puts me in a good mood and I'm more inclined to music. The problem is it doesn't last very long at all, and if I try and recreate this all day with a hundred coffees, I end up feeling agitated and jittery.

Nicotine is a very similar high, but has the same drawbacks.

What goes up must come down. Universal rule when it comes to stimulants, especially the strong, short-acting ones.

You won't want to hear this, but: I found my time at work, and at home afterwards, much more enjoyable once I realised that coffee was 1/ not actually helping me be more productive at work, and 2/ seriously messing with my enjoyment of my free time when I got home. The short-term gains in the morning were outweighed by the jitters in the afternoon, and after getting through a litre or so of black coffee over the course of an average workday I was crashing hard in the evenings. If you're currently consuming large amounts of strong coffee then you'll probably have a couple of weeks of headaches and irritability if you stop drinking it. I'd suggest letting a mild tea take its place when you need a break at work.

If you want to ignore the above warnings, and don't mind breaking the (rather silly) laws we now have in place, you could look at kratom or functional stims like 3-FPM or 2-FA.

To be honest I don't drink a lot of coffee. I have a strong mug in the morning and leave it at that. Possibly another one at lunchtime, but its too acidic for me to drink all day.

I just wish I could recreate and extend the high I get. I'll look into Kratom a bit more, but the withdrawal I'm looking at on Google seems a bit heavy.

Don't we all mate.

You could look into khat, but it also got banned under the Psychoactive Substances Act, along with anything else that has a kick. Again, though, you aren't going to find something that's noticeably stimulant in nature that doesn't also bring you down with a bump afterwards, that's just the nature of the beast.

What do you all mean by a "strong" coffee? Darker, more flavourful roasts don't significantly differ from light roasts in terms of caffeine content, so the "strength" shouldn't have an impact on physiological reactions.

Any of the fluoridated methamphetamine analogues that are currently for sale on grey market websites.

I've been particularly enjoying 2-FMA in low single doses (sub 30mg) as a "get all this fucking work done before 5pm" assist and in higher doses as a party drug. I've not experimented with 3 or 4-FMA yet but reports all seem to be quite similar.

That said, I have a lot of history with stimulants like actual speed and modafinil, so YMMV.

When I say a strong coffee I mean two heaped spoons full. Not teaspoons either, proper spoons.

If you're on about real beans then lardeedar but even so. Use more of it, simple.

Interesting info there. I like my stims a little too much and having a break from it all at the moment. Had a little issue with 3-FPM, made me insanely horny, and I would spend weekends binging on porn. However, this started to become a little too regular and I began to get hit with the worst depression and suicidal feelings for days and days after a session.

Had to knock that one on the head, I had little control over taking more and more. Takes away a lot inhibitions i find too. Still miss it from time to time though, especially the initial rush.

I don't have any links for these greymarket sites but I'm currently coping quite well with moda. I think the euphoria from a functional dose is similar to coffee, but lasts much longer.

Pros:
- Better focus on work.
- Energy stays high all day.
- 50mg is plenty for me, I don't know why they sell it in 200mg doses but at about a tenner for ten of them, that's a cheap as fuck 25p dose. Works out even cheaper than drinking instant coffee all day, without the crash, addiction or bad breath.
- No compulsion to re-dose, same or the next day.
- No more or less horny than usual.
- Normal pupils, no tooth grinding.
- Constant mild euphoria and being focused means I'm not really interested in drinking.
- No anxiety or paranoia.

Cons:
- Sloppier work in general from short term memory loss* and derailed trains of thought.
- Have to be really careful about the dose, and
- Can't drink coffee because the potentiation or higher dose keeps me up to 4am, wakes me up two hours later and then I'm exhausted and despite not wanting to take more, know I have to stay functional through that day and won't without it**.

Other:
- No appetite suppression. I liked how rarely I had to eat when on speed, and even when I did I'd have the energy to make good, healthy food without craving anything greasy. The weight loss and energy from that which I'd expend working out got me into shape in a way this never will.
- Increased irritability. In the one instance where it was unjustified, I dealt with it well. The rest of the time this just means I've stood up for myself where I otherwise wouldn't bother out of laziness.

*Interestingly, I can recover the things I forgot about more easily than usual but I still have to pause to do so. Like forgetting where you put something more often than is normal for yoy but finding it again faster and more reliably.
**Except on days when I don't have to stay functional in which case I'm relieved to not take it.

I would be careful about experimenting with it if you don't at least have regular weekends off when you can recuperate. Definitely not something to take every day, but great if you have a lot of work to do and don't want to worry about jitters, addiction, headaches or compulsive masturbation.

This is almost as bad as 'uni'. If you've got enough stimulant focus to format a pros/cons list you've got enough stimulant focus to type the full word.

Am I the only person who's tried and loved the effect of chewing betel nuts?

They'll damage your mouth if used frequently and are highly carcinogenic, but they do exactly what OP is looking for, they are legal (I think) and easy to obtain.

Lads what are any drugs, legal or otherwise, that basically helps you deal with never ending frustration, self-loathing, anger and the never ending feeling to either pack your bags and fuck off away from everyone and everything or kill thyself? Anti-depression medicines? I would much rather be a robot going through the motions day in and out until I die. Maybe some sort of mood stabiliser?

So far, weed slows my brain down which kind of helps but not fully. Alcoholic makes me immensely depressed. Vaping strong nicotine juice makes me think through things okay (although maybe being away from everyone and sitting by myself smoking is what helps). Anything else?

You should definitely talk to your GP about whether you might be depressed and consider an antidepressant or CBT if it's offered.

You should also consider two non-pharmaceutical treatments with very strong evidence of efficacy - exercise and mindfulness. It sounds a bit airy-fairy, but the evidence is undeniable. Exercise and mindfulness are about as effective as most pharmaceutical treatments for anxiety and depression. It's not particularly difficult or time-consuming.

Consider animals held in captivity. If they aren't provided with sufficient space and stimulating activity or if their environment is too noisy and stressful, they develop a range of serious behavioural problems - repetitive pacing, head-banging, self-mutilation and so on. There's nothing wrong with the animal, but a toxic environment has sent them mad. They usually recover very quickly if they're placed in a more suitable environment.

Think about whether your environment is the equivalent of a cramped cage at a zoo. Think about whether you spend too much time sitting and not enough time in nature. Think about whether you're exposing yourself to avoidable stressors. Think about whether your leisure activities are really making you feel fulfilled and consider trying something new. If you're not happy in your job, really go all-out on finding something better.
