The room in my new house is incredibly bland. There needs to be something on the walls.

Deciding what to put on them has put me in a bit of a dilemma.

Am I too old for posters? I feel at 21 I am, but then I feel too young for 'serious' framed things as well. Especially when said exhibits wouldn't really display my real taste, just a pretend grownup one.

Nor am I a fan of the middle ground of framing my juvenile interests. I want it to look casual, not like I'm such a hardcore fan of x that I have it framed. Especially when x is probably going to be some anime theme or similar. Before you say, mai waifu type things won't be going up.

Strangely I'd quite like some posters that look worn out, creased and crinkled, like they're second hand posters, it would give the room that well-worn look. I do the same with trainers. I walk around the garden in them for a few days before I wear them in public. I'm not sure how much of this is out of personal taste or insecurity, but that's another topic.

Anyway as I've typed this post I've decided I'm probably taking it too seriously, and will stick whatever I think looks nice up. Poster, print or otherwise. But I suppose its worth asking, anyone ever thought the same?

The futurama bit looks ace because it's so neatly done. If the rest was arranged in a tidier way (not sure how though) it'd all look just as good. Frames make it all look nicer too, but they get pricey.

My bedroom at home still has posters I put up when I was 15 or so. My girlfriend made me take down the Ian Watson one though, just so happened to be on the same poster as Dave Mustaine.

In my first term of uni I spent a while buying some really nice posters, had this really cool Jimi Hendrix one with loads of colour and a picture of a dark pool room which I really liked. When I came back for second term the cleaners had removed them...

Ok, this is a little out there, no idea if anyone knows or remembers this, but worth a go.

Back on britchan during the scientology lulz there was the guy in the Starship Troopers getup giving away KFC. Some dude did a pic of the guy with his cock out fucking a box of popcorn chicken. I saved it because it looked hilarious (also fapping), but my HD exploded. Any fags here still got it?

No but if I can divert this into a general thread of chan images we remember but can't google up again, I have a couple.

One was a classic gore image of this Japanese looking woman and supposedly it was a medical experiment where her arm was frozen then boiled and her skin all flayed off and she's looking at her skeleton arm and hand. She's screaming in a cartooney, stagey kind of way and I think it's special effects really. It's black and white.

The other was this black guy and he was dressed all in purple with a purple fedora. He had some kind of medical condition and he had these bulbous eyes that seemed to have no iris, just a pupil then all white.

He'd died and I found a MySpace tribute page and his name was Tyrese or Tyrone or Tyrell or something like that. I'd just like to find it again because I'm curious what condition he had that made his eyes look that way.

I would like to have the full size version of this image so that I can have it printed and use it as a wall decoration.

I originally saw the photo in the times, and I noticed it in the daily mail too. I can see the AFP/Getty watermark but I can't find it on the AFP/Getty websites.

I would not mind paying a small fee if needed.

I've probably hit the same dead end as you, but just in case, more images of the event by the same photographer are up on Getty here:

http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/Search/Search.aspx?stak=87902970&assetType=image

You might try contacting the photographer, Michael Dunning, and asking for a print or where you might get rights if Getty doesn't have it on their gallery. He has contact details on his website and a few more of the race photographs here:

http://www.michaeldunning.com/?photos=aerial

Failing that you could go directly to Getty and ask if they have it on hand.

I am looking to sell my own art online, mostly oil paintings on canvas. How do I value my own work? I'm considering using time at minimum wage as a reference (which would work out to about £115) but don't know if my work warrants that as an amateur.

I am also wondering if you guys know of any good places to sell through. The most promising outlet I've found is Saatchi Online, but thought I'd run it by /art/ before putting up a listing.

Finally, how do I create prints of my work to sell? Can I just give a clear digital image of the canvas to a website who will produce the prints?

Thank you all

My mum draws and sometimes sells artwork, I don't think you've any hope of selling anything if you can't make an impact on the art world at even a local level. Look for small local galleries and such to market your work through, you can expand into your own thing off the back of the fact you've got some gallery recognition.

What I'm saying is making an Etsy page and selling is all very well, but nobody's really likely to be interested. At exhibitions and galleries you've got people who appreciate and like art, and are looking to buy in many cases. Plus it gets your name out and if you're lucky you can move onto bigger things.

This might all be bollocks since it's me mam doing it and not me, but I think I'm correct.

There are vastly more people making art than buying it. Most people with fine art degrees never sell more than a handful of work, in spite of the excellent promotion and marketing opportunities that are available through most courses. Your average amateur painter doesn't have a cat in hell's chance of selling work profitably, unless they have extensive sales experience and a huge amount of hustle.

That's absurdly vague, seeing as NATO small arms typically employ the world's most common intermediate and full calibre cartridges (5.56x45 and 7.62x51). There is no official 'Raghead cartridge', they use whatever they can get and a lot of that are weapons in those cartrisges (ANA corruption with weapons going missing helps too).
