I like how they've made the situation of a journo who tries to interview magical turtles all realistic, but given her the most ridiculous body.

There seems to be a special class of artist who is amazingly talented, but 95% of their art is girls with big tits. (They usually post their drawings on Deviantart.)

Not sure where I found this, but posting it as a contribution anyway.

Luis Royo fits that description. I really enjoy how on the surface the psychological implications of his paintings are. With the exception of his commissioned works, everything he paints is either a half-naked woman or a half-naked woman posing with an ugly or bestial male figure, which is usually groping the woman.

Modern art (by which I mean artwork that is modern, not a cube on top of a can of spam or whatever) is every bit as much of a consumer medium as everything else in our culture. Artists have to play to their audience if they want to keep the money and attention flowing, and you see it reflected in their work.

It's why I pity the fisherpersons whenever they talk about problematic media- They have the cart before the horse. No matter how exploitative you might think it is, big tits are what the people want to see. Culture isn't brainwashing them into it. They demanded it of culture.

This is true enough I suppose. And probably a fairer way of looking at it, I've been seeing from the perspective of all the artists being 20-something males who are just drawing what's on their mind.

There a plenty of good artists who don't do this, but you rarely see their work because the consumers aren't sharing their work and giving them exposure (if you excuse the expression).

I think I might have gotten this from here, but seeing how the only other imageboards I visit aren't exactly cultured, not a lot of art has turned up.

Interesting idea, very interesting. That's sort of what I've been saying about the anti-page 3 movement for a while now. IE, of course you don't like page 3, but they know that, and you wouldn't buy The Sun regardless. Yr smarter tho.

Damnable markets, end them all somehow, someone.

They're what a certain percentage of people want to see. I tend to take the "vote with your wallet" line, but I also can't help but notice that hetero-male-oriented sexual imagery is disproportionately prevalent in all forms of visual media. I think it's a fair complaint.

>Culture isn't brainwashing them into it. They demanded it of culture.
Are you suggesting that people aren't in any way a product of the culture they grew up in? Because that's not a very compelling argument.

Excellent. Not my favourite Bruegel but I grew up in a house with a full size replica of it on the wall, so it's probably the one most deeply stuck in my mind.

>Are you suggesting that people aren't in any way a product of the culture they grew up in?

To a certain extent they are, yes, but it's obviously not as strong of a force as it needs to be for that argument to really hold water when you stop to think about it. Culture changes at an alarming pace; over years, decades, and generations the world transforms almost unrecognisably, it is patronising at best to suggest that people are slaves to their upbringing.

If you brought someone from a hundred years ago into the world of today, consider how much of our culture they would actually understand- They certainly didn't have page 3 back then. People drove towards change because they were unhappy with values and traditions of the culture they were brought up in. Society at large has only become more and more liberal over the past century, and yet, tits remain as popular as ever.

I wouldn't be surprised if the elite use and browse the internet however they like. Other than that, those that do have access to it, like a handful of students, are strictly monitored.

If you are dead, or about to get murdered, I doubt you would give a shit about rest of your relatives and family.

Don't Israel practice something similar? Like demolishing the houses of the family and relatives of suicide bombers, and imprisoning them? I don't remember.
