Is there a word for this?

Juxtapositional art? I don't know, but I like. If you have anything like, do share.

I don't understand. Juxtaposition? All I see are ships in the sea. Am I missing something? Is it the green ship? Is it a ghost ship? I fail to understand where the juxtaposition is.

Have you even looked at this picture? It's The Enterprise fighting a Romulan Warbird. Anyone who has seen even one episode of Star Trek knows Federation Warp Nacelles are blue and red.

The Federation flag flying above the Enterprise is a dead give away even if the colours didn't cause the penny to drop.

I take it you've never watched Star Trek then?

It's very much along the lines of steampunk.

I always assumed Steampunk was modern technology in a Victorian setting with a clockwork aesthetic. Can anything "out of it's time" be said to be Steampunk then?

Hijacking my own thread for a tangential question.

If I wanted this turned into a print, for poster reasons, is there anywhere which would do this at it's native res and aspect ratio without me having to pick a cookie cutter size and have to crop it? I just want to frame it, maybe the artist sells copies of it.

No, your original assumption was closer to the mark.

The artist sells prints using some online shop, the blog and link are here

Alternatively you could walk into a local graphics design/printworks and just ask for a quote.

Ah, it's a Borg ship not a Bird of Prey. That would explain the Enterprise being a Brig and it being a Man o' War.

It's heartwarming to see people buying art. You should show us the picture next to your gran when it arrives for size comparison's sake.

I like when size comparison charts use that particular human shape.
