I have come for advice.

I found a box in the cupboard that has a lot of first edition Dragonball Z and Dragonball comics from Canada.

They are in mint condition, all in their own packaging with a cardboard backing.

Does anyone here have any idea as to the potential worth if I was to try and sell them? I know these things can be quite fickle and if I were to take them to a shop I can only imagine being conned.

Try it in what sense? Do they have a valuation function?

I can't find anything similar for sale to compare prices, if that is what you were asking.

There are a number of Dragonball fan forums where you'd be able to pose the question. The other poster also has a valid strategy, just putting them up for auction and letting the chips fall where they may, but you might undersell it.

If I were you I'd take it online, I'm confident that you could probably even set up a secure sale (using eBay most likely) by one-to-one PMs for a good price, if you find the right collector.

If you're looking for an estimate on .gs, though, I've no idea. It's quite specific.

As the lad who sold his magic collection for signifacntly more than he realised it was worth, do expect heavy, and pisspoor, trolling on these forums.

The one that had me in hysterics at how shit the attempt was ran: "My daughter plays with cards worth more than those in your photo." Just think about that for a second.

Anyway, I put the word out on forums, and when people where obviously not dribbling bellends, got in touch. I ensured I spoke via phone to several interested (and better yet not-interested) parties to get a rough idea of price to ensure I was being fed the straight dope. When it came to selling cards, especially as someone who was not known in the community, we agreed for me to post them to a mod, him to check the collection was as advertised, then the buyer to send me the cash, before the mod sent the cards on.

Hope that helps.

If you search on eBay for similar to what you're selling, and then check the Completed Listings option, it'll show you what other people's auctions have actually sold for - that might let you get an idea of the price without having to commit yourself.

10735 Donnie Darko comic book series
There is a countdown to Halloween which is allegedly a viral marketing countdown for Donnie Darko III or maybe a Donnie Darko comic book series (Which would be cool)
Either that or its hurr durr illuminati project monarch. My working theory is that it is some kind of ARG marketing purposes unknown. Anyway its been going for at least a few years now:

http://www.falseprophet-hq.com/

Do some research and you'll find all sorts of 2spooky phenomena popping up around the place..

This website is a kind of maze. If you type 'highkey' in the top box and 'lowkey' in the bottom box you will get past the first screen, it also trails right across the web to all sorts of strange locations, government sites. DD3 better be worth the wait.

Did anybody care for Better Days by Jay Naylor? It was a webcomic that ran consistently for six years (which is something of a shock in itself).

He uses little animal avatars to explore themes of sex, violence, and what it's like for children to grow up with messy, imperfect and unplanned exposure to those things. Sometimes the animals represent different races, and you'll catch on pretty quickly if you read it. He sometimes lays it on a bit thick with his political and gender philosophies, but even if you don't agree with the views presented it still makes for an endearing and well-constructed read.

I went back over it recently and quite enjoyed it. He's now updating one called Original Life which is more light-hearted, I can report back on that when I've read through more.

The writer is also a furry artist, which I don't care for at all, and I understand might make it a contentious topic in most places. I think it speaks to the merit of the comic, though, when even someone who dislikes that aspect can still appreciate it.

Ahh, that brings me some nostalgia. Even so, Better Days was widely regarded in its day as one of the biggest atrocities committed by the furry fandom.

The Goddamn Furry Board (a place for bitter and jaded old-school furries who remember the days of Geocities and Yahoo Groups, before the entire internet hated them) used to have a thread for every new strip he published deconstructing exactly what was wrong with it, and making some rather hilarious edits to exaggerate the conservative views into full on neo-nazism.

Naylor was always better at the porn anyway, like any furry artist.

May as well post this two months before it happens as this board is a little slower compared to others.

I'm going to comic con in Manchester this year and it will be my first time at one of these events. The only other expo/trade show/con I've been to was a car show about 10 years ago and a market type of con when I was a small boy.

I'm not going to cosplay as I was never into the costume side of it all and I don't feel like getting on the tram dressed as a super hero.

My question is this. What should I expect? What should I avoid? By being new to this what shouldn't I do there? There's a chance I may be going alone. My brother wants to go but he's unsure he'll be free and I still haven't asked my mate if he wants to come too. Is the event significantly less fun if I go alone? Are any of you lads going to it (rest assured I don't want to meet up or something like that. Just general curiosity).
