Honestly not sure why people hated Ed Balls so much in office.

You can disagree with his politics but he's always been a laugh and he's never taken himself too seriously.

Can you imagine George doing this ?

Just a guess but that's probably why they hated him so much.

It's not like he was doing stand-up comedy from the dispatch box now was it?

As one of his constituents before he lost his seat, I can conform that Are Ballsy was a top lad. Nobody holds a coffee morning quite like he did.

I read that, when they got married, they booked their friends and family into the hotel and arranged a discount, but charged them full price so they'd make a profit off their loved ones.

The Hell?

He goes onto a reality TV show, looks horribly awkward and smiles throughout like a priest at a water park, and you lot begin treating him like a political messiah?

What... just... hmph?

British people treat career politicians like they are some sort of highly strung, pretentious, formal robotic vampire lizards. When they are ousted, and defanged then reveal themselves to have a real personality and the ability to make fun of themselves when they are down on their luck it breaks the cognitive bias against them and we find the fact that it turns out they are just human profoundly endearing and decide actually we'd quite like someone like 'that' to run the country instead of the robotic vampire lizard we currently have.

Apparently Strictly is proof that we're a nation of massive racists because the first two contestants are black, nothing to do with the fact nobody knows who they are.
