13376 Nati Dreddd
Anyone familiar with this lass? Nati Dreddd is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Scotland who sings contemporary Folk tunes that aren't too far removed from the tradition.

She recently made a stop in New Hampshire and is on tour promoting her new tunes:

Just another acoustic guitar snooze-fest. The tradition of what? OP sounds like a fucking robot.

If I wanted to listen to someone strum a guitar and sing with a Scottish accent I'd put on Gerry Cinnamon or Amy Macdonald.

OP is clearly her manager, or at least her friend, but I listened to that original song of hers last night and it was pretty good. You should all be very slightly nicer to this obvious shill thread. Obviously she's no Amy Macdonald, but then who is?

Not really.

So what's the deal? Are you her manager? Are you shagging her? Are you family? Little bit of all three?

I never heard of Nati until she came to America earlier this month; instantly loved her performances and went to quite a few of her sets. I live an ocean away and have no blood relation to her. I don't use TikTok, so any knowledge of her presence there was completely unknown to me. This type of singer/songwriter Folk music is outside my area or familiarity as my preferences generally include heavier music. Not that I dislike it, but Celtic Rock and Celtic Metal are more my thing.

I am just an overly enthusiastic fan sharing an artist I hope others can share in my fandom with me. Again, the previous artists you mentioned are outside my area of familiarity, so I approached her as if this music had never been performed before. Obviously, it's not new in terms of genre, but still thrilling for me.

Why do you feel her music is weak? What sort of music do you feel delivers? What song would you compare Dreddd's music to?

Genuinely curious.

I'm not really versed in the Scottish tradition, but we have some remarkable performers working in the English tradition - just to name women, we've got Eliza Carthy, Rachel and Becky Unthank, Kate Rusby, Maddy Prior, Kathryn Tickell, Bella Hardy, Fay Hield and of course the legendary June Tabor.

Incessant crossposting may be the digital equivalent of flyering parking lots, but it can be effective under the right circumstances. Different users hang out on different sites and could respond either positively or negatively.

>contemporary folk
So, not real folk then. Still, it's better than nothing. I blame Bob Dylan for making folk music less about tradition and more about the individual.
I'll check her out at some point
