Queen have revealed a previously unheard, deeply emotional song they recorded with Freddie Mercury in 1988.

Face It Alone, which the late singer recorded during sessions for 1989 album The Miracle, was given its premiere by BBC Radio 2's Ken Bruce on Thursday.

I really liked it, the whole thing is so different to a typical Queen song too.

It feels a bit like a whittled down Mother Love from the Made in Heaven album. And the lyrics are a bit like what I wrote in my scrapbook as a reclusive teenlad in year 10.

But it's Queen through and through, and to me Freddie Mercury can do no wrong, even 31 years after his death. All the stuff that made him one of the greatest singers ever is present in this one song.
