9060 Music for space travel
I like electronic music that makes me feel like I live on a spaceship. A certain kind of synth sound, no idea what to call it. Or if there is even an appropriate genre. Here's some examples, anyway.

Albums:
https://www.youtube.com/v/vd0sHifpzIk
https://www.youtube.com/v/6Kv9OiWWaYY
https://www.youtube.com/v/5FGl5XJg6Zc

Tracks:

https://www.youtube.com/v/6RO7K4W-c9g

I suppose you could just call it techno, but I feel like there's something more specific here. I propose that if it doesn't have a name we call it warpcore.

I'll get my Sokol suit.

The entirety of this album has always made me feel like I'm sitting on a space station watching the earth spin.

Is there a way to embed a Youtube playlist on here? I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy Benn Jordan's album Pale Blue Dot, the whole thing is on there.

The Flashbulb released a tribute to Carl Sagan? That's amazing, can't believe I didn't know about this. Fits the bill of the thread perfectly, too. Thanks.

Can't embed a playlist, but I think it'd benefit us to link this channel : https://www.youtube.com/user/SpaceAmbient

It has Pale Blue Dot, and as you might guess from the channel name, lots of other stuff like this.

While we're at it, here you go >>9063.

He also composed some pieces for an exhibition about the universe at the Adler Planetarium.

Bumping for some more suggestions. The SpaceAmbient channel is great, and the Pale Blue Dot album was fantastic.

At the moment I'm in need of something a little more lively. It's hard to find 'liveliness' that doesn't veer into campy sci-fi.

Right now I'm trying out the following:

Tycho is very nice, but a little bit too sleepy for what I'm craving:

No the sort of thing you're looking for, but it's got an ethereal space feel, and is an amazing bit of music.

I had that whirring away in the background earlier, that's very pleasant noise. I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQYJNDo4kN0, too.

Autechre are bloody brilliant, but Christ they can be a bit abrasive at times.

Thank you for this thread, ladm8s. I struggle to work with more exciting music on, but this is fantastic and should hopefully drown out my bickering Slav officemates.

You can embed with a start time. Just append the video ID with "?start=" and the time in seconds. In the case of your link, it should be "WoYcBuofZgk?start=329" in the YT brackets, like so:

How you think of living in a spcaeship and the kinds of feelings it brings out in you is very, very different from mine.

Err, that music is for the Cairo Station level, which is very obviously not a spaceship, you complete IDIOTS! God, I can't imagine how embarrassed you pair must be right now.

I'm watching a Horizon Special about Mars and they keep using tracks from the Mass Effect games. Other than giving me Illusive Man flashbacks it's reminded me of the best track from all 3 games.
