I hate the idea that politicians can't have private conversations in a casual tone like this.

It was clearly a joke, most people probably won't appreciate his sense of humour, but it is cuntish of people to expect politicians to remain in professional mode 24 hours a day.

Personally, whilst I hate the both of them, putting myself into the shoes of a monarchist, Tory PM I can quite easily see why that phone call would fit the "definition of relief". I'unno, seems like a whole load of nothing.

Although I've always considered "purred" to be quite a sexy manner of speaking, so that's a tad disturbing.

Last I heard the Crown and the Government were in a bit of a spat. The Crown was fucked off that the Queen was being used as a tool for the No Campaign and had rejected requests to make a speech as she was pressured to do in the 70s referendum (of course her speech from then was reused) which is a no-no anyway because she is supposed to be apolitical. Salmond also did something but I forget what as he doesn't matter now.

Then both sides of Parliament decided to cancel PMQ's and head off to Scotland without telling her. This is about as far as Private Eye had covered it until I was done on the shitter but it shows that the executive is coming under pressure and her Majesty should rightly lead a bloody coup as Parliament needs some renovation work doing anyway.
