5495 Reincarnation
It's unsettling what kind of a rabbit hole reincarnation can become if you spend more time reading about it. You could dismiss it as parapsychological hocus pocus, and on the face of it, who wouldn't, but unlike things like superstition and astrology, science really seems to struggle to refute the concept, and there have been cases where "reincarnated" children had quite obscure detailed knowledge about a past life that turned out to be true and where a person matching that description actually existed, but nobody would have had a way of researching it and then faking it because that information was so obscure and inaccessible.

One of my exes was knee deep into that stuff, she'd done a past life regression where they somehow found out that one of her past lives was as a 17th century French nobleman. I then asked her, how come you're a woman in this life, and she said, in some lives she was, in some lives she wasn't.

I can't say I really believe in it, but it's an intriguing concept.

Reincarnation is just a misunderstanding, what's really going on is we're all just part of the same being to begin with. Eternally, forever, we are all one.

When you think about the idea of us having seperate conciousnesses it doesn't make sense, because otherwqise what made me me? Why wasn't I Louis XVI? Why wasn't Joan of Ark Are Moaty? Why wasn't Baby P Alexander the Great?

Nah, we're all figments of the Godhead dreaming itself m8.

Maybe you were, and maybe they were. Past-life memories apparently fade after about two to three years of age, going by the literature on a lot of those cases. But sometimes you can retrieve them again through hypnosis when you're an adult.

Maybe you have to forget who you were in order to become the person you are meant to be in this life.

Regression therapists argue that sometimes past-life memories in adulthood can mess with your subconscious and revisiting them and gaining closure can make you a happier person. But I guess you would say that if you're asking 200 quid an hour.

At least the nice thing in all the kid stories is that eventually they decide to go back to being kids because they think they need to live their own life. I kind of wonder with the people who go off the deep-end on this stuff if maybe that's what they need.

I'm sorry but this conception of Godhead doesn't confirm with the science of project management and I'll have no part in it. Just think about it; there's no agreed scope, everyone is running around with no idea what they're doing and after every project there's no lessons learned record for next time!

An eternity spent working for the NHS.

I really loved this video when I saw it, but maybe you've all seen it too:

But once you get into this trippy bollocks, why can you only remember past lives? If enough barmy things can happen to allow you to remember being a Zulu princess, then I don't think it's that much more of a leap to also remember future lives that haven't happened yet. And that really would be exciting to witness.

You can't remember the future because you're travelling through time at the speed of light. You can see the past as it catches up with you but the future is only keeping up. Also the universe is a 4D donut shape.

Don't argue with me lads, I am quite confident I've taken loads more drugs than you.

Or, if you subscribe to multiverse theory, you can't see the future because the future alternate universe you'll find yourself in depends on all the minute decisions you make or don't make between different options as you go along and which you have no way of foretelling in every detail. Something as simple as stopping at a service station to get petrol after work can put you in a completely different alternate universe, because who knows, maybe the fact that you stopped for petrol istead of just going home meant that that distracted lorry driver who should have crossed your path at the next red light down the road didn't crash into you and kill you. You could be alive now just because the two of you never met, because you missed him by the three minutes it took you to top up petrol this afternoon.

Nah, that future is still there already, it's just in different directions. It's all joined up, you just only see it going past because relativity.

My sister was, apparently, Cleopatra. She's been saying it since she was around 12. I take the piss out of her because of it.

What about all the chinese peasants?

To be fair, everyone who's been Cleopatra has probably been about 50 peasants too.
