Myself and several of my close friend group have had exceptionally strong cases of seasonal flu this year. It is my strong suspicion that there is a form of avian flu which has successfully crossed over into humans.
This virus has been sweeping through communities since at least November last year. The government is either unaware of it, or if aware, has covered it up, because we all know how it went last time. They have chosen to simply allow it to run its course, because our economy could not sustain a second hit on the scale of the lockdowns.
I am confident it's just standard flu, because I got vaccinated against that, was in a moderately wretched state for a couple of days, then was fine. Others around me were slightly worse, despite being healthier, but we were all sorted after a couple of weeks. This all happened around November of last year, so it's definitely the thing you're talking about, and my evidence suggests it's just standard flu. And standard flu can be especially virulent in some years, so this is probably one of those years.
