Alot of it coincides with the whole 40k mindset but not to sure which came first. Nemesis is good though.

Interestingly, there's a new Dredd film coming out. It's distanced itself from the Stallone movie which is good, but I'm not sure how I feel about Wagner's comments. It sounds like he's just kissing the studio's ass.

Some of the 40k comics are pretty good. Deff Skwadron stands out as the pinacle.
And if you liked Nemesis you'll love the Redeemer.

Come on.

The Stallone movie wasn't THAT bad for the era of films it belonged too. It was the end of the action era with people like Arnie being Mr Freeze and so on.

He still remains the only person with a square enough jaw to play the part though.

Did you actually pay attention to the movie, or were you too captivated by all the pretty lights moving around on screen?

While it was an OK action movie, it walked all over the preceding 20 years of Dredd fiction. As a 2000AD fan, can see it as nothing other than an abomination.

No idea if this is true/up to date, but Karl Urban (I never heard of him either) is rumoured to be playing Dredd.. Of course I looked at some photos and held my hand over the top half of his face. His jaw certainly has a Dredd quality, the thin lips espeically. Shame he's not older.
Excuse my appauling MSPaint skills, I think you can get a better impression doing the hand thing.

I'm betting 20 quid he won't remove his helmet through the film, sounds like they're trying to stay true to the comic this time.
I just hope they don't do the current action film thing of 'gritty hyper realism' and psychotic lead characters (though maybe that does fit Dredd). We need some joke Block names and sillyness shit aswell.

>>2931 Some classic Dredd sillyness. This strip is the best kind of Dredd in my opinion. Mega City one and all it's insane inhabitants are the real stars of the strip and take centre stage. Dredd just serves to bring the story to a close.

In my opinion, Dredd himself doesn't really become interesting until the later stories where he starts to mellow up and have internal conflicts.

If anyone has any specific requests for strips, post them here and I may dig them out.

Rob Cuntbag Schneider. The set pieces (Mega City!), costumes and props were brilliant though, shame the pace, acting, dialogue and 'feel' of the film were so off

Robocop is a good Judge Dredd film. When it came to making the Stallone film they wereconsciously trying to avoid making it like the comic as they thought the movie would be criticised for being too like Robocop.
