22863 Official* Britfa.gs Minecraft Server
Thought I'd better make a new thread for this so the link doesn't get buried -

britlads-prime.ftb.host

It's vanilla right now, save for GriefProtection, which allows you to claim an area of land that will be secured from damage/grief. I don't know if we need this or if it'll ruin the 'fun' of natural disasters like your house being cunted over by creepers. But for now all you do is do /claim in your house to claim your first area, then subsequent claims or edits will require a golden shovel. It's a whole thing, look it up.

I'm happy to stick other mods in there if we get bored, and please let me know if you encounter performance issues - I'm using some hosting service that might well be shite.

Also, I just noticed that GriefProtection also was blocking bad language, which is a bit much, so I've stopped that.

I spent ages tracking down a horse and fitting it with horse armour and a saddle then it just vanished underneath me for no obvious reason.

Odd. I wonder if that's anything to do with this anti grief plugin? I know it's supposed to protect pets too so maybe so. I'll magic you a new horse etc next time you're on.

Disabled it for now as it was chucking out errors all over the place. If anyone actually wants to be able to claim land I'll look into it more, but otherwise, fuck it.

Started messing around in the server earlier and found there was tunnels I couldn't plant touches or build in. Is this likely to be from the anti grief plug in?

Also random blocks kept changing apperance to goldblocks and glowstone, which I have no logical explanation for.

Were you near another players building, or spawn? It could well be the plugin.

The gold and glowstone is a visual marker for the corners of a protected land claim.

Should I just sack this plugin off entirely, lads? It doesn't seem to be very good. Or I'm just a bad admin.

I was confused by the gold/light blocks too, despite being way out in the middle of nowhere. Must be turning the land claim on without realising what does it.

Figured out why nobody's found any diamonds. We're all faffing about around in crevasses and abandoned mines which appear at level 30 at the deepest; they've changed it so diamonds only really appear around level 5. I went down that deep and found seven in the first five minutes then nothing for the next thirty.

No sign of painted deserts but I did encounter some massive icebergs at 3000/1000. Ran into more at 4000 on the way back, unsure if it was the same biome or just a similar one.

Any chance you can get backups of the map? I quite like having them to go back to in the future and reminisce.

Also the server does seem to go down quite often. I was getting quite invested in the new villager mechanics.

That's like turning on god mode in a shooter. You just don't do it unless you're seven years old.

You can't visit the town centre and remove the crackheads. Why should you be able to do it in MineCraft?

I was torching areas up to try prevent this kind of thing then I came back one day to find my gates left wide open, my hedge row exploded, my field set on fire, and my black sheep mixed in with my white sheep

Don't you city boys know your countryside code?

1 Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work
2 Guard against all risk of fire
3 Leave all gates as you found them
4 Keep your pets under close control
5 Keep to public paths across farmland
6 Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls
7 Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone
8 Take your litter home
9 Help to keep all water clean
10 Protect wildlife, plants and trees
11 Take special care on country roads
12 Make no unnecessary noise
13 if you accidently explode a hedge try to repair it

Between you, you've broken rules 1 2 3 5 6 7 10 11 12 13, and the unspoken 'purity' rule.

I can't for the life of me figure out how this fucking redstone works.

I've tried making some kind of automated steak farm where I lead the cows into a water current that leads to lava-hopper-chest combo but is there any way I could, say, have a minecart chest instead and have it bring the chest and its contents to my storage?

There is, but you'll need to use a hopper minecart. That can collect the beef and deliver it, maybe run it off a Redstone clock so it delivers periodically.

Not the OP but I just set up a new server. Been playing a lot of MC of late and figured it'd be best to share the wealth a little.

51.89.247.224:25615 for those interested. The host allows automated tasks so sending out occasional backups should be a doddle.
