>>24122 I got it for free because it was on PS+, played it with my mates all night. I've never heard them swear so much. It's got that Fortnite shop shit with skins, but it seems like people who wear them are actually more top heavy and fall over easier. First pay to lose mechanic I've ever seen.
>>24127 It's like Gang Beasts insofar as you're a blob competing against other blobs. Instead of hilariously walloping one another across destructible environments, you're all competing to complete an obstacle course.
>>24130 No, this is the Takeshi's Castle game.
I remember crying for ages after being unable to convince my mum to buy it for about £15 (dance mat included) when I came across it in a Welsh car boot sale in the mid 90s.
>>24127 It's the BR last man standing style, but over 3-6 Takeshi's Castle Style minigames. It has 25 at the moment, with more apparently getting added in updates.
>>24129 It's a pure gaming experience, it's fun, that's it. The thing that has everyone salivating is a dev made a fun and accessible game. It has 3 button imputs and is intuitive to play and watch, with almost endless marketing opportunities. The Beans themselves are perfect mascot characters, because no matter how you dress them they are still obviously a "Fall Guy".
The hype is completely organic, because Playstation and PC rarely get games like this and people want them, no matter how "hardcore" they pretend to be. Nintendo barely even makes them these days, last I remember was Splatoon 2 possibly Mario Maker 2.
>>24143 That's a good summing up. It's just a game. That's it. It's as close to the ideal of "mindless fun" as you can get. It helps massively that it's pretty difficult to be a bellend.
The "Infallible" trophy is impossible without quit scumming. I'm pretty good at this game, I took to it like a duck to water; I have dozens of wins and the most I've won in a row is 3 crowns.
>>24144 >It helps massively that it's pretty difficult to be a bellend.
I think we're playing different games. Spectate the finish line campers after you cross the line, seen a few people pushed in the slime on Slime Climb on the last hill and on the yellow tubes.
There is a SeeSaw strat that can literally force a second round Hexagone by using two people to keep the seesaws tilted.
If you grab someone right before they need to jump on Jump Club/Showdown or Block Party they'll miss the jump and get eliminated, sometime dragging several beans with them.
It's all good fun though. The Dark Souls of Mario Party-likes, if you will.
>>24423 Why does it matter if it's a flavour of the month game? Their twitter is still full of replies and from what I see on Twitch still quite popular, new levels are being released in a couple of weeks too. I'm sure it'll survive.
>>24423 Steam says otherwise: 46,255 players at time of posting, 59,488 peak. And that's only for Steam, of course, I know it's on PS4 and I am assuming you can buy it elsewhere for PC.
