26912 Street Fighter II Plagiarism

Never knew about this back in the 1990s. I do remember Resident Evil being awfully similar to Alone In The Dark for the PC.

An interesting tangent on this is SNK adding a character called Ryo Sakazaki to 1992's Art of Fighting, who was a karate master with an orange gi. His moveset was very similar to Ryu and Ken's moveset in 1991's Street Fighter II, and they also both had gi (Ryu's white, Ken's red).

In response, Capcom created the character Dan Hibiki for 1995's Street Fighter Alpha, who wears a pink gi, and who has a similar moveset to Ryo, Ryu, and Ken, albeit one that's limited by his shit techniques.

So plagiarism got plagiarised in an ironic way. SNK and Capcom had a friendly relationship later on and collaborated. Data East seems to have been irrelevant for 25 years.
