27810 switching phone contract
I'm currently on a £10 a month rolling contract and I want to switch network provider to one that is £8 a month.

Apparently there's a switching service for this. What I don't understand is, what happens if I switch halfway through my current contract? Do I still have to pay the remainder? It says I must give them 30 days notice if I'm leaving but not sure if this applies with switching.

Yes. The "switching service" just allows you to move your number from one network to another. You're still liable for the remainder of your contract and you still need to tell your existing network that you're leaving.

Ah right thanks.

So maybe I'd be better off cancelling the first contract and waiting a month before taking out the 2nd contract? Otherwise I'll be paying for two plans simultaneously.

But if you let your current plan lapse, you'll lose the number. I think that you either need to time it excruciatingly carefully and hope that neither provider fucks up (hah!) or just accept some overlap and pay the tenner.

If you cancel a pay monthly contract, you'll have to pay a cancellation fee and the remaining monthly fees of your contract.
