You almost certainly want to use Jupyter. It's a deeply integrated IDE and document management system that was specifically designed to manage messy projects with a mix of code, data and documents. It's not the right tool for management of an established project - you'd want Git and some kind of issue tracker for that - but it's the undisputed standard for research and development. The community is slanted towards machine learning and data science (where jupyter notebooks are now the standard document format), but all sorts of people are using it for all sorts of projects. |
