Every week or so I use a small knife to scrape the gunk out from a deep pocket beneath my big toenail, then eat it. It used to smell and taste strongly of decay - dead skin mingled with foot sweat I suppose. Only these days it's rather clean with no smell at all, not even discolouration. I suppose my personal hygene in better than it used to be.
