For some reason I've found an interest in databases. I've been learning SQL/DB basics and wondering how I can use this skill in terms of employment. I don't have any IT qualifications, but I'd really like to try and get a job in a relevant area.

Do any ITlads know anything about the career market for people who use SQL/data, particularly for beginners like me?

I've been following this 'Step by step guide to becoming a modern PostgreSQL DB Administrator', but it doesn't go into anything job wise. https://roadmap.sh/postgresql-dba

So to expand, I would pay about £290 for a junior DBA, £400 for a senior and maybe for £700+ per day for a contractor. DBAs start at about £30k per year permanent, but go all the way up to £90k++ for senior and architect roles, particularly if you learn more than one database. Far too many people try and get into "data science innit" nowadays, but DBAs will always abide (and survive like cockroaches).
