Steam fails at geography.

Alfreton: Derbyshire
Bourne: Lincolnshire
Corby: Northamptonshire
Grantham: Lincolnshire
Kettering: Northamptonshire
Kirkby: Nottinghamshire
Mansfield: Nottinghamshire
Rushden (never heard of it): Northamptonshire
Stamford: Lincolnshire
Sutton in Ashfield: Nottinghamshire
Wellingborough: Northamptonshire

I mean, come on, 4 of those places are in Northamptonshire which doesn't even share a fucking border with Notts...

Actually in related news, Facebook fails at geography. It keeps on putting my village in the neighbouring county, so that when I set my hometown/current location it says <village>, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, when it should be in Nottinghamshire. Steam and Facebook, I am unimpressed.

In Broadmarsh there is an animatronic Christmas display, and there is an elf next to the tree with yellow hair and a very disturbing expression, I think you should check it out if you live in Nottingham.

It does that not only with my village but the neighbouring village as well and they seems to be no way to tell facebook to correct it. It was much better when you could write in your own location.
But facebook was designed to get as much information out of us mindless consumers as possible so as to tailor adverts in a way to make us mostly likely to purchase the things being advertised at us, so I see why they made the change to make it harder for us to lie and use amusing fake places or amusing real ones like Pyongyang or Hull.

Fucking tram works make it super inconvenient to cycle into town. The council took a few bungs to extend the tram network in the first place.

I've only met one person who said he wanted the tram network to be extended everyone else has said no. Why do we need a tram network when the buses are efficient enough already?

Trams are electric, buses are petrol-driven. I imagine the people who don't want the tram network to be extended don't use it anyway and are just fucked off about the traffic disruption.

Different poster here. It's not, really. I will offer that as a general rule, though, larger/more utilitarian vehicles (vans, buses, lorries, tractors, etc.) to use diesel. Probably something to do with efficiency, but I'm not clear on the specifics.

Yeah, the extension seems unnecessary. Just moved to Beeston, and the constant tram construction seems to fuck with the buses somewhat. The buses are regular enough, a tram route just seems like overkill.

Anyone north of the river is scum.

Since my southern friend pointed out the whole 'duck' thing I've started to hate it. Didn't mind it when I was a young'un.

alt.society.nottingham is pretty funny.

Right, 2 days in and what I can say is that;

- Plenty of fast food shops, enough for everyone and their grandmother.
- Kind of run-down in places, feels a bit rough
- A good bit of bongos and muslamics, but thats ok, I don't really care much for either.
- Lads with neck tattoos sitting on the back of buses and swearing down the phone to their mates, all the while sitting next to some nice elderly lady.
- Bus drivers are bang-on sound, and do their job properly and in a friendly manner
- Young folk everywhere, everywhere, trying to get their fill of BANTZ, drink and other post-teenlad behaviour.
