I wholeheartedly endorse this.

Aberdeen is just before the eye of the whirlpool of shit that is Scotland. Once you're in, it is very hard to get out. I know so many people who only moved here for a few years, and almost 10 years later, are still here, and still talking about leaving one day, and a lot of these are students who came from afar and finished their degrees a long time ago. I don't know why they stay.

People in Aberdeen come across very arrogant and uncultured to me too. I think it's to do with Abdn being somewhat isolated. I've seen this pattern in others outside of aberdeen too; people who do nothing think they know everything.

I drove through Biggar last weekend. There were loads of lassies out dressed up to the nines heading towards town square bit. I saw one pub there, in the middle bit. Dunno if that's the only one. Anyway I kind of want to go out there so going to check out B&B's.

The Fringe is brilliant for finding new talent. There's quite a few now fairly popular comedians who I remember seeing in Edinburgh at free shows when they were just starting.

I didn't go, but I saw the funniest joke of the year on the news and I suspect they just decided they absolutely had to give it to a woman this year, because the joke was weak and she even rolls her eyes when she tells it. I can't find the video now, but, "I dated a guy who worked at the zoo, but it turned out he was a cheetah!!!". I guess the jokes in these news articles never work when they're written on a news website in sterile isolation, but really, that was shockingly wank.

I heard that in the show, she's playing the character of some precocious weirdo 8 year old brownie or something, so the joke is meant to be shit because it's told in character. All about context. Not like a Tim Vine rapid fire series of well crafted one liners.
