Fairly new to the area, attending the Uni of Manc for undergraduate studies. Anyone in the same boat?

Ha, just came on to make a similar thread. Except doing my Postgrad. Only know one person here, but he's recently married so kinda on a leash/tied down.

It's a big city and kinda boring/lonely at the merment. Luckily back home is Sheffield so it'll be pretty easy to drive or get the train back on weekend to see old friends. But hoping to expand my social circle here too obv.

Untrue. There was one outside 111 Piccadilly for a good few months around October - May, he played the guitar. He started off shite and became alright towards the end (even though he only knew one song) and then one day he mysteriously disappeared.

This lad has it. I was once in manchester with my dad, and they kept asking for "money for a pastie". He went and got them a pasty, instead of just giving them money, and the piece of shit refused it and said he wanted /money/ for a "pastie"
Fucking druggies.

Confirming this. I got separated from my mates on a night out and ended up doing coke with a black guy called Ollie. I spent £300 that night.

I'm at Man Met. Obviously, do ho ho.

He was black and wore a dench hoodie but was called Ollie and had a distinctly home counties accent. I don't know, it just seemed weird to me, didn't mean to draw unnecessary attention to it, sorry.

I'm looking to move to Manchester in July/August with a couple of friends, any Mancfags got any advice over where to live?

We'd like it to be reasonably central (within 5 miles or so of the centre I guess), not too expensive and without much chance of getting mugged. A quick search threw up suggestions of Chorlton or Didsbury. Opinions?

I live in a rather swish apartment just on the other side of the northern quarter.

The amount of autism around Piccadilly is just crazy.

You were looking at entirely the wrong person. Anyway, thank you for suggesting Kunt and the Gang, it was a fantastic night even though I then walked to Piccadilly instead of Victoria and then had to book myself into a swanky hotel for £95 a night. It's alright though, I figured 'in for a penny, in for a pound' and brought my favourite personal fuckstick up from London for a good shagging on the kingsize. The bathtub was excellent. Top night, would do again.
