Really? If that's true then there's another reason to hate the city of my birth. I just chose it because I needed an image, and I figured that that one was pretty depressing
I'm actually on the verge of hyperventilating. I refuse to look into this any further, just in case. I knew they had gone to shit back in the early 00's when they started a comic about a skater boy.
I was always a Beano man myself though. I don't even want to know what they've done to that fine publication.
>>2592 The comic was basically dead then they tried to copy some shit comic called toxic and rebranded the Dandy as Xtreme to try and stop them losing even more readers.
They then turned it into a proper comic again but with lots of modern artists and full of annoying celebrity cameos. It was basically already dead by this point and they went down to about 7,000 readers . Then they finally pulled the plug on it with a decent final issue on the 75th anniversary of the comic. That final issue was the best thing the Dandy had done in decades mainly because it was full of old stuff.
After that they tried to make an online comic (with really shitty animations and voice acting) but it was really buggy and so they killed that after a few months and now the Dandy is properly dead.
Recently they've put a lot of modern artists (who worked in the late Dandy and whose shit is in OP's pic) and celebrity cameos in The Beano. The latter ruined The Beano's 75th anniversary issue but I quite like some of the modern artists however a good few are shit but these shit ones are often decent writers which kind of makes up for it.
>>2594 Here's a revolutionary idea. Why don't they do what the Americans do and pair up the decent artist who can't write with the decent writer who can't draw? Then they'd get a comic with shit writing and shit art.
>>2595 They have been doing that for Dennis the Menace recently. It has become one of the Beano's better strips when it used to be quite mediocre especially after the new CBBC cartoon they released in 2009.
