Moved here for work recently, it is a fucking dog hole. At least Rotherham (hometown) has some soul. Here it's just depressing. Met some good people but I can't stand that accent.

I don't hear much of the local accent personally. At least half the people I have met in Derby have not grown up in the area. The local schools (and Uni) do not produce enough skilled workers for Rolls-Royce and all the railway companies. It is a city with a large transient population, in my experience. People come for work but they rarely want to settle here.
