How quick is that car's 0-60?

I remember a few years ago I pulled up next to one at a roundabout whilst driving my 5 series BMW. A 528 to be precise. The fucking thing blew me away 0-60. I was shocked at how quickly it accelerated. But once them 5 series beemers get rolling, they fucking destroy everything.

What exactly is an Astra G? Looks like a Mk IV Astra with a few minor exterior changes and I assume a better engine/drive train.

Is it basically Vauxhall's equivalent of BMW M-tech? or is it something more like AC Schnitzer or Alpina?

You are correct, Astra G, a few changes;1998cc turbocharged engine, larger brakes, etc. Basically a GSi except there were only 500 SRi's made and around 350 left now.

Its basically what 'VXR' was called 'Back in the day', in Germany it's called OPC.

Guessing you have at least 350hp to get that kind of 0-60 time. Has the car been on a diet (stripped out back seats, etc)?

270HP Give or take a few, but about 320 lb/ft Torque, with an outstanding custom map made by one of my good friends who specializes in this engine. Shes not on a diet, but weighing 1.15 Tonnes to begin with you don't really need to start stripping unless you really care about 1/4 mile times, which I'm not...

Craking paintjobs, how much did they set you back?

Astra 1.6 sporthatch. Got it when it was a year old, now it's over 7 years old. In that time I realised that despite being a fan of cars, I'm more a fan of not paying obscene amounts on petrol, servicing, and tax, so I'm going to keep it a while longer. It's quick enough for me.
