Fairly sure the pedestrian has right of way if he's already started crossing (whereas the car and cycle haven't started turning). If he wasn't there I'd assume the cycle being turning left gives him right of way but I don't know this.
>>2763 Pedestrian > cyclist > motorist. The motorist is turning right and gives way to oncoming traffic, which includes the cyclist. Pedestrians uniquely are unregulated and therefore have right of way everywhere that isn't obstructed (e.g. a gated path to someone's house) or where the law specifically withdraws right of way (e.g. motorways).
>>2768 In reality, what will happen is that the cyclist will round the corner screaming at the pedestrian to GET OUT OF MY WAY SLOWPOKE, and will get anally aggrieved when they inevitably get hit by the car following them.
>>2769 If I was the cyclist I'd just turn. Being in those positions means that unless the pedestrian is sprinting he's never going to reach me in time to hit me, and even if he did, well oh no a grazed knee!
Then you'll be financially indebted to supporting me and my family the rest of your life, some of which will be spent in gaol. Do you stab people who're queuing in front of you at the shops, too?
So many bikecunts on here. What's the matter? Too poor to buy a car? You are cancerous twats and everything wrong with the world. I won't be the only one to hunt you down when ITZ happens. I won't listen to your bollocks about tax on emission or whatever other bullshit. You can fuck right off.
I tend to avoid the cyclist debate, it's just not worth it. I do pride myself as a cyclist on knowing the laws of the road inside and out, because plenty of coppers can be just as clueless as angry drivers. I have been stopped for not wearing a helmet before.
All I know is that I follow the rules of the road, I cycle mostly in the city so I'm often faster than cars, so I'm not in anyones way, and I hate cunt cyclists who see red lights as mere suggestions for them. I hope those lot all die. I really do feel the frustrations most car drivers express with these wankers, so when someone shouts at me to use the pavement, it's very hard not to just dive head first through their passenger window and throttle them.
A week or so ago I was at some lights, and I was in the middle lane as the left lane was for turning left only. Since I wasn't turning left, I was pretty surprised when a woman in her car shouted at me to get out of the middle of the road.
>>2782 Which is precisely my point. The vehicle licence really isn't a tax on emissions, just like NI isn't a tax on jobs and the passport fee isn't a tax on travel.
>>2784 >the cyclist debate
Debate? There's no debate. Motorists, cyclists, Sinclair C5s - all are legitimate road users and shouldn't be having a go at each other for no reason.
The rate of Vehicle Excise Duty is directly proportional to CO2 emissions, in the same way that the alcohol duty paid on a bottle of spirits is directly proportional to the alcohol content. It is perfectly reasonable to call it a tax on emissions, for the obvious reason that cars with no emissions don't have to pay it.
