My car's front right tyre seems to deflate from 2.4 Bar to 2.1 bar that's 35 PSI to 30 PSI for all you philistines in the space of a week. Is that normal or do I have a slow puncture?
I know the wheel that the engine turns, will lose pressure more quickly anyway but this seems a little on the fast deflating side to me.
Something's leaking, for sure. Might be the tyre, the valve, or the wheel (most likely sneaking out under the lacquer ir paint if they're a bit banged up).
That much leaking should show up with soapy water if you feel like chasing it yourself, but whatever happens you'llprobably end up taking it to be fixed.
Driven wheels leaking - huh? If things are ok, pressures should stay fine for years. I've got tyres with 30 year old air in them. Not that I use them at speed.
There's always going to be some leakage, especially on older tyres as they become porous. Another reason can be corrosion of the wheel, which can mean that the tyre no longer sits snug on the metal.
Up to ten percent leakage of the recommended pressure over a month should probably be normal, just to pull a number out of my arse.
