I can't help feeling bad for Kanye West. He's clearly lost his mind, and instead of sectioning him or however they do it in America, everyone's just watching passively so they can righteously denounce whatever he says. Even mental health groups are saying that being mental doesn't necessarily mean you hate Jews, and of course that is true, but it's not really the point and it's being used to justify joining the baying mob of mild disapproval. If it's really as offensive as all that to be a black guy who suddenly loves Hitler, shouldn't people be trying to stop him? But nobody is. It's Charlie Sheen all over again.
>>97329 Sorry, but the people disagreeing with him and pointing out what an arse he's being aren't the people enabling his actions. To claim that's what's happened is completely disingenuous. West's dined with President Trump, podcasted with Tim Pool and then plumbed the depths of Alex Jones' show. Is a reporter for the Huffington Post meant to rugby tackle him to the floor while he's going inbetween these events? If he's being pimped out by anyone it's the far-right and as far as I can tell he's doing it all under his own steam anyway. You can't lock someone up for being a massive arsehole, that's not the fault of this imagined "baying mob of mild disapproval.
>>97327 More importantly I think this post just made me "get" furries.
This analysis of Kanye's bipolar mania came out mere hours before the Alex Jones interview. On both sides, I think there's just a simple commercial imperative - a huge celebrity who keeps saying mad things is an irresistible source of clicks and views.
>>97331 I'd be inclined to think that too if he didn't have a history of saying/indicating he believes in these batshit ideas. None of this is new, he's been at this for years, it's just worse because he's off his meds completely and is now only surrounded by people trying to use him as a political tool, who are only feeding his conspiratorial delusions.
It's a very interesting thing with Kanye. It's like a double whammy of madness and then a slice of hypocrisy and irony on the people who are criticising him. I've seen a lot of takes which are basically along the lines of "I can't believe a black man would say such things", with that implication of how a brown person should just know better.
But of course, those people haven't seen the long running tension between the black activist community and the... Well, let's just say "establishment", which many would characterise as anti-semitic, in much the same way they called Jeremy Corbyn an anti-semite. Many of the Black Lives Matters chapters got into hot water because they started calling out zionism and all that kind of stuff; not to mention how there's the nation of islam and all that going back way back to the old days.
What Kanye is going through is a slow burn mental breakdown which the signs of were all there to see a decade ago, but he's rich and kind of an arsehole so people just let him get on with it. Right now he's entered terminal velocity and people are just happy to watch the dumpster fire; but it's not like he's just flipped out and decided Hitler was right overnight. All of the pieces were there to join up if anyone gave enough of a fuck to have done so.

Nah. Most of us wouldn't be caught dead in one of those suits. If you want to compare furries to another group, let's say Christians, the fursuiters are the militant deep south God Hates Fags ones. The rest of us just want to jack off to the wolf girl from Helluva Boss in peace.
He's had poorly-managed bipolar disorder for years. He clearly does believe what he's saying, but it's impossible to say whether or not that's symptomatic of his mental illness because he has been very ill for a long time. The "real" Kanye, the medicated and stable Kanye is just a distant memory at this point.
It's shameful that so many people are wheeling out Kanye in a transparently exploitative effort to drum up views, but it's also shameful that people aren't recognising the severity of his illness. He isn't in control of his words or actions, he doesn't have the capacity to make decisions in his own interests and any British court would immediately recognise that fact.

Also consider that he's been living a decadent life of a multi-millionaire for years and his only real exposure to the world at large is crowds of baying fans and media telling him how amazing he is, and scores of companies lining up to use his name for marketing. That can lead people to become pretty detached from reality even if they're sane to begin with.
