16178 Link preference
Linking a youtube link takes preference over coercing it into a (ropen)Title(/rclosed)(sqopen)protocol://fancy.thing.here(sqclosed), I.e. brian prefers to embed a YT link over making it a plain <a href> style thing.

Is that the desired outcome, or could that be fixed?

Might fix it. Have been looking at it recently because of some server changes and upgrades I need to make.

(This is code for saying, in about six months, if you're lucky).

Could you please also fix the thing where it makes the whole site stutter and/or briefly disappear into a nginx (or similar) hole when I try to make multiple mod actions, such as deleting a post and banning someone for it simultaneously.

So sorry!

When I move the database server back to a sane place, that stuttering, and slowness on star will disappear. It's embarrassing.

I think we should make the site slower. Everybody's in such a rush these days.

Or create an AI algorithm that automatically marks shitposts so people will know it's not worth their time reading through all five and a half paragraphs of it.

> Or create an AI algorithm

I'm not puple, one of the other three. No.

This place has always about human connection, raw as it might be. LLLMs are not welcome.

How are we to know that .gs isn't already one big AI hallucination that can pass any Turing test?

Or create a board which are AI posts only. That's more our style. I'd need to find a way of detecting those which aren't, for the instant ban.

One of my favourite things about AI is that it has perfect spelling and grammar. Most of us don’t. You could try that?
