2562 Front door blunder
I've just fucked up my front door. UPVC jobbie, and it had fallen to the point that it no longer locked. No more adjustment, so I took the arrowed bit off (2 screws), filed it down a bit so it fits in the hole it should (which then enables all the claw locking gubbins).
Screwed it back in, door shut fine and it scnicked into place. Yay.
Fucking door won't fucking open now. The key moves the latch a bit but clearly not enough.
Fuckety-fuck, wat do. Also, how on earth can this happen? I'm assuming I didn't screw it in far enough, so it sticks out a little further than it did. Very hard to get tools into the gap to poke it in a bit, poxy security...

That was plans 1 through 12.
Now doing bad things with various screwdrivers as prybars, having wound all the hinges to pull the door as far from the latch as possible.
Just need to get it unfucked before the Mrs comes home, It's far too hot for sarcasm...

Fixed (well, opened, and closes again safely) with about two minutes to spare.
Cue 'why haven't you done other thing yet, I was expecting you to be half way done'.
Yeah, well...
Still, at least the door opens. Off to do other thing. In the foul humidity.
