I want to attach a flat bit of plywood as a central panel between two poles.

I think a part like this would be perfect. The plywood is thick, around 12mm, and I could drill a hole then use bolt/nuts to secure it.

A couple of questions:
1) Am I missing anything in this plan, e.g. would the central panel slide down the poles?
2) Is there a particular name for this part? I found this on an American website where they call it a "brace band", but I don't know what it would be called here.

I think the wooden panel would absolutely slide down the poles over time. Are you able to drill into the poles? You could put a screw through the pole and rest the thingy on top of that to stop it falling down.

I honestly think building this contraption will be easier than pronouncing those words out loud.

Pot-ruh-zhe-meye to prrros-zhe. Just roll the fuck out of the R, remember the J is a Y, and imagine the equivalent of sh but for z.

Pronunciation is actually really easy in Slavspeak because it follows consistent rules. Grammar's the impossible bit.
