The BBC and that annoying Scouser off of The Travel Show have made a documentary.

I had expected people to link to the web story rather than BBC Three dross.

What the fuck are they doing with that ridiculous scroll-reveal bullshit?

>In June 2012 Merseyside Police had to issue a statement quashing rumours on Twitter that he had died.
How is this a good use of police resources?

The whole thing is absurd. He's persistently creepy but seems harmless enough. It seems fucking ridiculous to send someone to jail for touching someone's biceps.

I enjoyed their tacit acknowledgement that the term is a bit racist, but liberally used his nickname regardless.

Most newspapers do it when web guys get involved in bespoke storytelling. Though the BBC appears to be using a GUI web app called Shorthand to put this stuff together.

His behaviour has resulted in someone's death, but he still persists with harassing people. It's far from ridiculous that the justice system, after years of alternatives being exhausted to no avail, would jail him.

That's a bit chaos theory, innit? He asked to feel the guy's biceps, he didn't force him to snog a live train track.

I suppose Michael Barrymore did stop bumming men, so that does make some sense.

You don't think letting the public know that the predator they may think is dead and gone is in fact still around is a good use of police resources?

Dangerous predators, absolutely. Shy weirdoes who just want to hold a tape measure up to your arms, not so much.

Didn't he get done for threatening someone with a firearm? Maybe bothering people to touch their biceps is acceptable where you come from but I think 'let me feel your biceps or else' makes him a bit of a menace.

No, some woman called the police saying that he was threatening her with a firearm and that he'd kill her but when they arrived and found him there, there was no firearm. Which makes the rest of her testimony a little suspicious. Why are you even talking about this when you obviously didn't read the article or watch the video?
>bothering people to touch their biceps
>'let me feel your biceps or else'
Are these the same things? No.

Sure, he's creepy as fuck but punishment rather than rehabilitation clearly is ineffective.

Aki has been imprisoned on three occasions for harassment, witness intimidation and making threats to kill.

He has clearly been mistreated by the criminal justice system, but he is also clearly unrepentant about his history of harassing young men. I agree with you that he needs rehabilitation, but there's a perfectly legitimate argument for imprisoning him to protect the public.

According to the reports that have been linked he is repentant and is making progress. Otherwise yes, I agree.

I heard he raped someone in prison. Via a friend of a friend like so who knows how true it is...anyone else heard about that? Supposedly at a jail in Chester I think it was. Memory is a little hazy though.

I think the article and documentary have made it quite clear that the rumour mill is working overtime for poor Aki. He's not capable of rape.

Whatever his issues are, I feel very sorry for him about the level of publicity. He's a local nutter, he isn't worthy of front-page-BBC-news treatment.

This won't end well.

We all have local nutters. Fella round here has been pushing a wheelbarrow around daily since I was a lad, collecting tin cans, washing machines, anything he can weigh in. Either that or he's stood in the middle of the road touching up the markings. Kids have always tried to nick his barrow.
