With the price of Freddos these days I was wondering if you lot had ever used AliExpress? It is actually worth it or does it tend to lead to you getting messed around and facing massive delays?

I was looking at replacing my Q45 headphones today as the battery is going and noticed that they're going for about £50 less on Ali Express even after tax and with free delivery. It makes sense as I'm cutting out the middle man of the importer but that's around 1/3 the cost for the privilege of Amazon.

I'm not a big online shopper, in that I avoid it whenever I can, but I have used Banggood a few times and they are usually fine. I wouldn't rely on them, because you never know when your order will spend three months in Bangkok waiting for the shipping container to get full, but I have usually been happy with what I've bought from there.

I buy a lot from AliExpress - between work and personal purchases, probably ten grand's worth over the past few years. Delivery rarely takes more than three weeks and is often less than two, unless there are delays due to Chinese New Year (late Jan/early Feb). There used to be occasional issues with stuff getting stuck in customs, but that's basically ended since AliExpress started collecting VAT. Unbranded products can be pot luck in terms of quality, Western brands are usually fake, but the big Chinese brands are a safe bet.
