Boris is looking completely lost, Keir is a bit of wet rag and I'm unsure of her connections to the Corybnista loonies. But that said, Boris is over and done now - I like her very much, and she will probably be the next Prime Minister and it's going to be fucking awesome.

>Jeremy Corbyn’s reaction to the prime minister’s Russia statement has sparked a Labour party row, as his spokesman questioned the evidence that Moscow was behind the Salisbury attack.

>The Labour leader came in for sustained criticism, including from his own MPs, after he failed to condemn the Kremlin directly for carrying out the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia.

>The row later intensified when Corbyn’s spokesman appeared to compare the evidence for direct Russian involvement, with the shaky case for war in Iraq.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/mar/14/jeremy-corbyn-under-fire-over-response-to-pms-russia-statement

>Mr Corbyn, then Leader of the Opposition, did not echo her in blaming the regime of President Vladimir Putin for the attack, and his official spokesman later drew a comparison with the faulty intelligence that led to the invasion of Iraq.

>Mr Corbyn provoked audible anger from around the House of Commons when he asked Mrs May “how has she responded to the Russian Government’s request for a sample of the agent used in the Salisbury attack to run their own tests”.

https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-starmer-contradicted-corbyn-on-the-salisbury-attack

I'm judging Corbyn by his own words. He refused to unequivocally blame Russia. He questioned the British intelligence and his number two likened it to the WMD dossier, with Seamas Milne's views on Russia being well known. He said we should give a sample to Russia for testing.

Like it or not, but being an apologist for Russia did not go down well with the public and that is when he started to run out of the momentum he'd built up after the election against Theresa May.

I quite like this.

It's interesting because you're clearly pre-emptively defending yourself from the accusations of Longstandingissues, but in so doing raise quite a valid philosophical question- When does sexually idealising or objectifying someone actually become bad? We're all human, and that means we're all sexual beings. Surely it's possible to have utterly perverted, filthy fantasies about a person and yet still think they are every bit a talented, intelligent and inspirational individual, otherwise you would never have a romantic partner. That's what love and desire is, really, isn't it.

With that in mind, why is it somehow sexist to fancy a woman? Is it only sexist to express it aloud? Is it because fisherpersons have never experienced true love?

So anyway if this is the current Politics Thread, what do we reckon of today's allegation of a Tory MP watching porn in the benches? Seems like they just can't keep out of a scandal these days, what on earth is going on with them.

I do find it interesting that the only MPs they've questioned about it are women and it's been framed like watching porn is inherently an affront to women. For all we know it could have been a woman watching two lesbos roger each other with a double ender, or a gay bloke watching two tradies nosh each other off, but you know how it is.

Have you ever watched porn at work? Of course you have, that's all you spent the lockdowns doing isn't it. It's what I spent a good chunk of my night shifts doing. But this is an MP, in a presumably active session. Is watching porn on the job acceptable in that circumstance?

>Is it because fisherpersons have never experienced true love?

Nah, it's just projection. Strident anythingists are rarely multi-talented individuals with delightful personalities and rich personal lives. The people making the most noise about any given issue are usually people with nothing else going on in their lives. Fisherpersons think that men see them as nothing more than tits, fanny and arse because that's how they see themselves.

>>95667
>Is watching porn on the job acceptable in that circumstance?

Definitely not, but I also think we wouldn't be hearing about it if it was a gay bloke. We'd probably be hearing about it if it was a woman, but only in a salacious gossipy way. I'm not bothered about the porn, but I am bothered about a front-bench MP pissing about like they're a bored work experience lad who would rather be anywhere else. It's all rooted in a rather old-fashioned mindset - male sexuality is inherently menacing, women are fragile and need to be shielded from vulgarity etc etc.

I've been trying to devise a joke about how he was just looking at Angela Rayner, but I haven't been able to think of one. I also suspect that this story is part of The Political Game that they love to play: the Angela Rayner story was brought up so Boris could take a righteous stand and make the Conservatives look great and progressive by denouncing that story, so now Labour have decided to release this story to make them look like filthy degenerates instead.

It's possible that he was just sent a sexy gif in a WhatsApp message or something, and then that wouldn't be bad. But the House of Commons parts of being an MP are the most important parts; that's the one time you absolutely shouldn't be dicking about on your phone for any reason whatsoever. You should be representing your constituents and deciding on laws. Go and watch SSBBW MILFs literally anywhere else, at any other time of the week.

All the stories are coming out now, and they are clearly being used for political point-scoring. It's offensive. There is another news story today that a Welsh MP has said that a Labour MP made offensive comments to her. The Welsh MP does not want her identity to be made public, nor is she willing to name the Labour MP who has made the offensive comments. But she's happy to say he's from the Labour Party. His identity doesn't matter, but it's vital to say he's Labour. What a suspicious load of bollocks. I can happily accept that he probably did it, but when 56 MPs are currently under investigation for sexism, announcing that one of them is a Labour MP and refusing to give any more detail is just cynical opportunism.

Yet agasin loads of female MPs on the radio al lafternoon talking about how it's all damning evidence of the atmosphere of sexism in parliament etc etc.

I don't get it. Why is watching porn inherently sexism? The bloke was watching porn on his own phone. Do women not watch porn? Was he holding it up to women's faces with his tongue hanging out while wanking, making noises like Taz the Tasmanian Devil?

Why are all the women MPs that fucking backward Victorian Women's Institute type of fisherperson that acts like women are liable to faint and need waking up with smelling salts if they see a willy? Why do they hate sex and sexuality so much?

Obviously the guy shouldn't have been watching porn in parliament but that's not the issue I'm bothered about here, I just fucking hate this kind of puritan, prudish, dried up old bint more than anything, and they're all coming out of the woodwork over this to try score points.

>Is it just me? It can't be just me.

It's not just you. Joyless puritanism exists across the political spectrum.

A few years ago when there was a campaign to ban Page 3, I was arguing that they should keep it but have a bloke with his cock out on Page 5 to balance things out. Somehow that would also be misogynist, for reasons I can't begin to understand.

The anti-trans stuff that's kicked off lately is basically just a re-hashing of all the old homophobic stereotypes - it's unnatural, they're all rapists, they're grooming your kids etc. Homosexuality became socially acceptable but only by becoming sexless, only by aping heterosexual norms; the legalisation of gay marriage wasn't a victory for gay people, but the ultimate defeat.

IMO it's just an expression of a timeless authoritarian instinct. Anything enjoyable must be sinful, anything primal must be concealed, anything with innate power must be controlled. The reality of the human condition is so terrifying to some people that they feel an overwhelming need to smother it in the beige nothingness of formality and propriety. God might be dead, but the urge to subsume the human and atone for our original sin is alive and well.

Don't trust anyone who hates boxing, because they really hate themselves.

It's actually quite absurd to watch some of you try to excuse this. He's watching porn at work, surrounded by by people. This doesn't really require deep philosophical debate and I don't know why >>95711 is trying to suggest he had it open at some earlier point in the day then it just popped up. Parish's (shite) excuse doesn't allude to that being what happened at all, unless he was trying to pull up an old regulation pertaining to a bill being discussed and searched "tractor rule 34".

Everyone (meaning the public) would be just as angry, that I am sure of; but the difference is that if it was a woman the story wouldn't have even come out in the first place, and she'd just be getting a bit of banter in the corridors from time to time.

If it did come out, the focus would remain (as it should have in our timeline) on the fact it's a disgrace to be watching porn when you're supposed to be representing your constituents, and would not have veered off into another boring fisherperson media spectacle about evil bastard men being such men all the time. They can't even help it, can they, with their penises hanging between their legs all day. It's time women took a stand, and moaned loudly and tediously enough that the men buck their ideas up. But for good this time. (Until next time.)

Partially because she's not a proper socialist, and partially because they hate the working class. The crisis for a certain segment of the left in modern times is that they want to represent a working class, just not the working class we actually have.
