I need some new shoes lads. |

I highly recommend Reebok Classics. Black leather ones. I can make a pair of them last for almost a full year. Unlike those fucking expensive Nike things I've bought before. They look nice but they're absolutely fucked within 6 months whereas the Reebok probably could go a little longer if I really wanted them to. |

I was buying some the other day. Realised they all look like shit - why can't I have something sturdy and simple looking? I sort of found it in the end but they don't fit quite right at the minute, and they're Nike unfortunately. |

Don't get DCs, they look the dogs bollocks (if you're not over 23) but fall apart really quick. |

Just go back to Deichmann. As long you find a nice looking pair they are great value for money. |

Best trainers I've ever had were a pair of Nike dunks I had as a teenlad, now they were comfy and lasted ages. |

Vans Eras, essentially a Vans Authentic with nice padding around the ankle. Classic plimsoll design, available in one or two colours depending on how flashy you want them, Vans waffle soles last a lifetime, not too chunky and teenage-moshery like DCs et al. suggested higher up this thread but still having the comfort of skate shoe. |

I know this is the fashion board and whatnot, but I find the fact that the OP doesn't even have the wherewithall to buy 'nothing too fancy' on his own initiative vaguely unsettling. Nothing to go with an outfit. Nothing for any special purpose or occasion. Just a pair of shoes, and he can't make this choice alone. |

18_631_0886[1].jpg I've worn Chelsea boots basically all year for the past 2 years, superficially similar to these in colour and style (mine are nobbier). You can often find them going cheap in my experience. |

I understand what's going on and each to their own, but why not try some Yorkshire logic. Buy some shoes that you can afford that will last, fuck fashion and you have an advantage in that fools will look down and laugh at your feet. Looking down at your feet gives you an advantage in punchery. |

Here's the thing about OP's obsession with longevity; trainers do not weather well. Granted some fuccbois will maintain that a white trainer only looks good once it's battered to shit, and I'm inclined to agree sometimes, but no matter how long the stitching and the soles hold up, a trainer will last a year at most before it looks like old shit no matter what state it's in structurally. |

Agreeing with the posters who have advised against getting trainers. Unless the OP wants to look like a manchild, of course. |

Might as well ask, what are some good highstreet shops to get casual shoes (for a young adult)? Where I live has a Sole Trader, they seemed alright but pricey on anything not trainers. I know online shopping can be cheaper but actually being able to see/hold/try on a pair of shoes is definitely worth paying a bit extra for in my opinion. |

Classic_Oxford_Rubber_Sole_Shoes.jpg I might as well hijack this thread. I want a pair of plain black Oxfords with a rubber sole rather than leather, I will also accept a semi rubber sole. These are cheapest I've seen online, but the stitching on the sole does look a bit suspect 50 is really the best I can afford at the minute. http://www.gentlemen-prefer-brogues.co.uk/acatalog/mens-oxford-shoe-rubber-sole.html |

You can find factory seconds from Loake, Grenson et al on eBay. Usually they've just got a slight defect to the upper that will scarcely be noticeable after polishing, like a barbed-wire mark or patch of discolouration. |

I've had the same pair of shoes for work since 2017, albeit they didn't have much use between March 2020 and last summer. They're starting to look a little scuffed and the heel on one of them has worn away a fair bit. |
