20288 To The Householder
The sheer quantity of crap I receive off virgin media, is just absolutely abhorrent.

Virgin Media don't even have cable in my street, and I still get it. Cunts.

I've been getting two or three letters a week from Virgin media, addressed to me personally rather than 'the occupier' for several months now. I started marking the envelopes 'return to sender, not at this address' but it hasn't stopped them.

They're probably just doing the same lad, soon you will be getting them hourly as the new ones feed into this loop that you have created.

I remember once marking up a bunch of letters to be returned after someone moved out, and half of them ended up coming back a second time, complete with RETURN TO SENDER scrawled on the front.

I get those "exclusive" "personalised" mailings, and I've already got a massive package IYKWIM from them. Pretty much the only thing I don't have is Sky Sports and bizarrely they were still trying to get me to "upgrade" to the package I was already on.

At work one of our clients would always return forms we'd asked him to fill in amd sign 'return to sender' in the same envelope. I'd say it's so he could get out having to pay return postage, but there'd always be a freepost envelope enclosed.

I'm a Virgin Mobile customer and I thought I was receiving this fucking junk mail simply because of that. I didn't realise this was a problem for people they don't even have the details for. Do you think they actually get any new business thanks to this shite?

They phoned me the day after I cancelled my TV service I said I hadn't used once in 1.5 years to inform me it'd be very cheap to resubscribe to their TV package. They had to ring me a number more times before I had to very rudely respond to their "Let me just ask you a couple security questions to confirm your identity" script with a firm instruction not to call again.

It may be worth keeping it if it works out cheaper. I thought about taking the basic TV package (terrestrial signal is pants where I live), and it worked out around £20 a month cheaper to take the top package. IIRC that was even cheaper than not taking the TV in the first place.

I don't have terrestrial signal because I ignored a letter or two I got from the building's owner wanting to drill my wall to wire up a new aerial.

You've been with Plusnet for about 3 years and never once have you had 100 Mbps down your wire.

Not him, but I get 80 which works out at 8.7 Mb/s (I've seen it as high as 9) down and I'm on Plusnet.

If you were trying to imply that the trade off in speed makes up for the spam, then I'd have to point out to you that a 300+ms ping latency due to overloaded fibre hubs in certain areas make Virgin unpredictable, whereas F2E customers don't have to deal with this issue with comparable speeds to 100mbs Virgin customers.

I was with Virgin for years and was a fan of the DL speeds, but for online gaming they were a bit shit m8.

I thought we'd established that the spam comes whether you're one of their customers or not.

If someone's trying to point out to another adult how many centimetres are in a metre, they better not start talking about 100 kilometres.

>I'd have to point out to you...
Must you? I bet you're the lad that always does this, always points out how in certain areas VM seems to suffer from congestion. Yes, that's perhaps something people should be aware of, but you always talk as if it's a network-wide problem and it's simply and very obviously not. I could start talking about how with VM I often had the lowest ping in packed gaming servers, but the point wasn't to seriously evaluate competing ISPs, no.

Then why on earth did you bring up internet speeds in the first place when we were discussing spam mail, you deranged pillock?
