I took acid and it made me realise I was a drug addict.
How common is this?
It was pretty beautiful too, and it was wonderful slowing down and listening to my mind...solved a lot of problems that I wasn't even aware were still problems or even that they bothered me.
I originally realized that I was an alcoholic while under the influence of ketamine. Psychedelic drugs in general are good at providing that kind of insight.
I remember a time when I took acid. Was with a friend sat in a park. When we started to get high we tried to find the troll that lived under a small bridge. My mate's head had a long trail behind when he walked. Then we decided to go for a swim in the boating lake. It was about 11pm. A thunderstorm suddenly appeared from nowhere, the flashes made us higher. We walked the short journey home in our boxer shorts and coats, carrying our clothes. Didn't want to get them wet......
Anyway, by this time everything was red and green like a 3D movie, buildings were inflating like they were going to burst and roof tiles melted like wax and dripped off the top. I remember speaking to some entity telepathically which had a voice that sounded like deep robotic chirping and had a feeling that my body matter had become more fluid, which would let me walk through walls. Can't remember much after that.
I've heard of this kind of thing before - though more directly with ayahuasca than LSD.
When you trip on any powerful psychedelics you're opening up the possibility of changing yourself, particularly when you're looking at yourself and the world from a distance and different angles.
