Once the Wilheim Scream has been pointed out to you, you hear it in everything.
You will now see this image of the Earth. Look for the circled cloud formation.
Expand all images.

I heard it in The Raid today and started giggling hysterically, but then found out that film was made by a Welshman and so it became somehow disappointing. However I'm not quite sure what you're getting at, are most images of earth going to contain that circled part?

The circled bit is just an easily-identifiable feature of the image, so you know it's the same one.

Slight difference - one is deliberate, the other consequential.

The Wilhelm scream gets used everywhere as an in-joke among sound designers and directors, while the Blue Marble turns up everywhere because despite its quality you don't have to pay for it.

The consequences are the same.

Isn't it usually?

I've not heard it before.
