The last thread ate all of my ram and crashed my browser when I tried to open it, so here is a new thread.

This has been stuck in my head lately, whatever it is.

Sorry for the tangent but I wonder if the people in the tower block were thinking
>Stop trying to look "urban" you berk, you're plainly not from here
because that's what I think when people film outside of mine semi-regularly.

I'm glad they are still putting videos up for this album because it really is a work of art that holds a mirror up to different modern societies. Žižek did a good introduction to the bands underlying philosophy before the performance they did in North Korea where he points out that it is not just tongue and cheek but really lifts off the mask that hides totalitarianism:

She became a drug-addled self-parody, but just sit back and marvel at this set of pipes:

My favourite song for when I can't sleep. I really need to stop drinking coffee in the evening but it tastes so damn nice.

I was so close. I left the v= part in, that's why.
Thank you. I hope a mod comes in to delete my posts.

This is my favourite tune in the whole world. I have listened to it hundreds of times, often on continuous repeat.

I normally skip past this thread on /*/, but your comment made me listen to this track, and you are right. It's wonderful.

The album it comes from, Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is worth your time. The soundstage, the number of layers, the overlapping back beats, just awesome in every way.
How can it be over twenty years old?

The description is perfect for creating the mood of the song:
>The first time I heard this song I was on a balcony while a typhoon was coming into town and a potted plant fell off and smashed in the courtyard four stories below my feet. I smoked a cigarette which lasted the exact length of this song, and as the rain came in I felt at peace with the weather.

At work right now it seems like things are just going round in circles and we're just repeating the same conversations over and over.

It's from the soundtrack to a game called * Eufloria* which I picked up in the Steam sale.

I think I know where Marnie gets her look from now.

I was pretty surprised by how good this sounds considering all the talk around the new album. If I set out to do the best work I've ever done I assure you that it will be completely pants and I might never finish.

I can't remember if I might have posted this in a previous beat thread.

Hard to believe this was released nearly a decade ago.

A lot of people don't realise that the English folk tradition and the American blues tradition are intimately linked. Sea shanties are actually of African origin - British and Irish sailors learned the work songs of freed slaves when working the transatlantic trade routes in the early 19th century. Many blues songs are based on traditional songs of the British Isles.
The connection is often difficult to recognise, but once in a while you hear it in vivid technicolour.

Friday evening. ✔
Morrisons finest wine. ✔
Overly complex prog metal. ✔
This is what makes life worth living.
(Oh and stargazer too)

Amazing songwriting. Can't believe I only just discovered them.

>music video in a bar inspired by the westworld tv show which was inspired by the film westworld which was inspired by a book which was inspired by theme parks which were inspired by the old west as shown in movies which were inspired by some vague idea of the real old west, where they're performing an old fashioned style cover of a slightly less old song
baudrillard would have a rate good giggle

Heard this in a pub in Manchester a few years ago, and every now and again it pops into my head. It makes me feel like I'm trapped in a vaporwave-style universe where the 90s never ended.
The piece by this band that most fits that idea, however, is this:

Wrong thread m8.
Also, if McGregor goes the distance I will eat a boxing glove (10oz only, no Mexican or horsehair gloves). The lad is pure craic, but he's going to get his head knocked off like the wobbliest coconut at a village fete.
That's all for tonight on BBC2, so now we hand you over to pages from Ceefax.

I used to love waiting until after 1 o'clock on BBC 2 to read about a fatal landslide in Burma to funky Ceefax Jazz.

I didn't know Apollo 440 did a cover of the theme to Lost In Space but it's brilliant.

It is the remake's theme. I just realised, the above is the official theme to the remake. I know most fa.gs are ... older, but I'm of the age to have only seen the remake.
Spiders and nuclear walls or some shit.

Heavy pressure is weighing on me.
I push it aside lightly with a flip.
Pushed to the ground with pressure.
I kick myself up high with a flip.
Pressure that's painting everything blue.
I slip through easily with a flip.
Being cut with cruel pressure.
Be strong and laugh it off with a flip.
A popping cracker/firework,
A spinning record,
A strumming guitar,
Step on the flanger,
An echoing speaker,
A sounding heater,
Don’t let the flanger stop,
Let’s get excited and do a flip.
I was going to comment that it wasn't the worst movie to come out in 98 but double checking it aside from Godzilla it was an absolutely cracking year for movies. It even has what is my all time favourite film:
Goddamn it why does everything seem so shit compared to the 90s?
|>>|| No. 10679
This is really nice. What's this kind of music called? Where can I find more?
